(Yes, you read that correctly),\u201d read a tweet from The Daily Beast. The actual headline was even more dramatized: \u201cTrump Rebukes Candace Owens\u2019 Anti-Vax Talking Points: \u2018The Vaccine Works.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat?! LOL This is such a dishonest headline,\u201d Owens reacted. \u201cTrump did not push back against anything I said. We agreed that vaccine mandates and masking children are wrong. He also told Owens he\u2019s against the vaccine being mandated, as well as mandates forcing children to wear masks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhere do you stand on these vaccine mandates?\u201d Owens asked Trump. \u201cObviously, I know that you are pro-vaccine \u2026 you did everything you could to get this vaccine out. I know where you stand on the vaccine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was one of the greatest achievements \u2014 we did it in less than nine months,\u201d Trump responded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c100%,\u201d Owens agreed. \u201cBut now it\u2019s taken a twist, right? \u2026 We went from: this a good thing, people should have this option, to: military men, you\u2019re going to have to resign because you\u2019re not getting this vaccine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, I stand on \u2014 forget about the mandates, people have to have their freedom,\u201d the former president answered.<\/p>\n<p>Owens then went on to note that more people have died with COVID under President Joe Biden than did during Trump\u2019s last year in office. \u201cYet more people have died under COVID this year, by the way, under Joe Biden, than under you and more people took the vaccine this year,\u201d she said. \u201cSo people are questioning how \u2014 \u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh no, the vaccines work,\u201d Trump said.\u201d Owens replied, \u201cYeah.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ones who get very sick and go to the hospital are the ones that don\u2019t take the vaccine,\u201d the former president said. \u201cBut it\u2019s still their choice. And if you take the vaccine, you\u2019re protected. \u2026 Look, the results of the vaccine are very good, and if you do get it, it\u2019s a very minor form. People aren\u2019t dying when they take the vaccine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat about the masking of children?\u201d Owens followed-up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s a terrible thing,\u201d Trump said. \u201cI don\u2019t like to see the kids with the masks on.
