Apple\u2019s assertion was that the vote was unnecessary as&nbsp;\u201cthe company\u2019s policy is not to use such clauses,\u201d but the SEC has denied Apple\u2019s request.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The SEC told Apple that it has not&nbsp;\u201csubstantially implemented the proposal.\u201d Apple is due to face a vote on the issue at its next shareholder meeting as a result. The proposal is headed by Nia Impact Capital and calls for Apple\u2019s board to prepare&nbsp;\u201ca public report assessing the potential risks to the company,\u201d due to its use of contract clauses.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal focuses on the use of contract clauses&nbsp;\u201cin the context of harassment, discrimination and other unlawful acts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Former Apple engineer Cher Scarlett filed a whistleblower complaint following Apple\u2019s response to the SEC. Scarlett claims that Apple\u2019s response contained&nbsp;\u201cfalse statements,\u201d and included a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2021\/11\/26\/leaked-documents-show-apples-attempts-to-silence-whistleblowers\/\">copy of her settlement agreement from Apple.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Breitbart News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2021\/12\/15\/osha-launching-investigation-of-apple-over-treatment-of-whistleblower\/\">recently reported<\/a> that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is launching an investigation into Apple.
