At the event, Musk stated:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>I spend a lot of my time on sustainable energy with tesla with you know&nbsp;electric cars and solar and&nbsp;batteries and that kind of thing and I\u2019m&nbsp;really excited to be here in&nbsp;Shanghai for the Shanghai Gigafactory which is I think that Tesla&nbsp;china team has done an amazing job on. It is&nbsp;really mind-blowing like I\u2019m just astounded&nbsp;by how good the job is and how much progress has been made and I think it\u2019s&nbsp;a good story for the world and to say&nbsp;like look how much progress you can make in China.<\/p>\n<p>This is extremely impressive like my hat is&nbsp;off you know you guys rock&nbsp;so I\u2019ve never seen anything but so fast&nbsp;in my life before. To be&nbsp; totally Frank I\u2019ve seen some crazy&nbsp;things so you know I think it\u2019s like I really&nbsp;think China is the future.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In August 2020, Musk stated in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2020\/08\/03\/elon-musk-china-rocks-america-is-full-of-complacency-and-entitlement\/\">interview on the&nbsp;<em>Daily Drive<\/em> podcast<\/a> by Automotive News that people in the United States are \u201centitled\u201d and \u201ccomplacent\u201d while Chinese citizens are \u201csmart\u201d and \u201chard-working people.\u201d Breitbart News wrote at the time:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Jason Stein, the publisher of Automotive News who conducted the interview with Musk, asked him \u201cHow about China as an EV strategy leader in the world?\u201d to which Musk replied:&nbsp;\u201cChina rocks in my opinion. The energy in China is great. People there \u2013 there\u2019s like a lot of smart, hard-working people. And they\u2019re really \u2014 they\u2019re not entitled, they\u2019re not complacent, whereas I see in the United States increasingly much more complacency and entitlement especially in places like the Bay Area, and L.A. and New York.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chinese government officials helped Tesla secure loans worth approximately $1.6 billion last year to construct Tesla\u2019s Shanghai facility. Despite the Shanghai government helping Tesla to begin production again after the region was struck by a Wuhan coronavirus outbreak, Musk claims that the Chinese government is not as helpful to Tesla as it is to domestic companies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey have been supportive. But it would be weird if they were more supportive to a non-Chinese company. They\u2019re not,\u201d said Musk. During the interview, Musk also compared the U.S., California, and New York to sports teams about to lose their winning status.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you\u2019ve been winning for too long you sort of take things for granted,\u201d Musk stated. \u201cThe United States, and especially like California and New York, you\u2019ve been winning for too long. When you\u2019ve been winning too long you take things for granted. So, just like some pro sports team they win a championship you know a bunch of times in a row, they get complacent and they start losing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In January 2021, musk <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2021\/01\/04\/elon-musk-praises-china-as-more-responsible-than-america\/\">praised China as \u201cmore responsible\u201d than the United States.<\/a>&nbsp;Speaking to Business Insider, Musk was questioned about the \u201cethical limitations\u201d of his Tesla\u2019s operation in China. He responded that so far he had a positive experience and that Chinese government officials could \u201cpossibly\u201d be \u201cmore responsible\u201d for their citizen\u2019s happiness than America is.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Musk stated:&nbsp;\u201cWhen I meet with Chinese government officials, they\u2019re always very concerned about this. Are people going to be happy about a thing? Is this going to actually serve the benefit of the people? It seems ironic, but even though you have sort of a single-party system, they really actually seem to care a lot about the well-being of the people. In fact, they\u2019re maybe even more sensitive to public opinion than what I see in the US.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Business Insider\u2019s interviewer and the CEO of the tech firm Axel Springer SE,&nbsp;Mathias D\u00f6pfner, questioned Musk on his statement noting China\u2019s extremely poor human rights record.&nbsp;D\u00f6pfner stated: \u201cChina doesn\u2019t care about human rights. How could there ever be an equal and level playing field. Do you really see an opportunity for Western democracies to win?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk responded by discussing AI, praising American firms such as Google and Deepmind for their superiority over similar Chinese companies, stating:&nbsp;\u201cChina\u2019s putting a lot of effort into AI. And they may be making progress. But I\u2019ve not seen progress that is close to Google and DeepMind.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In July 2021, Tesla <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2021\/07\/19\/tesla-asked-china-to-censor-admitted-business-failures\/\">reportedly urged Chinese social media censors to shut down criticism of the company\u2019s vehicles.<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Via Bloomberg: \u201cAt the Shanghai Auto Show in April, a woman who claimed that a brake failure in her Model 3 had caused a crash, nearly killing four of her family members,&nbsp;staged a solitary protest&nbsp;at the Tesla booth. After climbing on top of a vehicle wearing a T-shirt that read \u201cbrake lost control\u201d in Chinese, she was quickly hauled away by guards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tesla apologized for the error following the wide criticism the company\u2019s response received on social media and from state-run news sources.<\/p>\n<p>Per&nbsp;Bloomberg Businessweek, Tesla \u201ccomplained to the government over what it sees as&nbsp;unwarranted attacks on social media,&nbsp;and asked Beijing to use its censorship powers to block some of the posts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>U.S. legislators have previously expressed concern over the potential spillover effects for national security that can come from the close relationship that Musk \u2014&nbsp;who is a major Pentagon contractor as the CEO of SpaceX\u2014&nbsp;has with the communist regime.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In the same month, Musk\u2019s official Chinese social media accounts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/07\/03\/revealed-elon-musk-tesla-go-full-shill-for-communist-china-on-chinese-social-media-site-weibo\/\">celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party.<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The verified&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/weibo.com\/elonmusk?is_all=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">accounts<\/a>&nbsp;for Elon Musk and top Chinese Tesla&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/weibo.com\/u\/7200283472?refer_flag=1005050003_&amp;is_all=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">representatives<\/a>&nbsp;on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo have all been adorned with personalised backgrounds celebrating the one hundred year anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP):<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Screenshot-2021-07-03-at-11.57.21-am.jpeg\" alt=\"Screenshot of Elon Musk&#039;s verified account on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo. July 3rd, Kurt Zindulka, Breitbart News\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The background celebrating the centenary of the CCP does not appear to have been a mandatory feature by the Chinese site, as other users, including one of Tesla\u2019s main&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/weibo.com\/teslaofficial?refer_flag=1005050010_\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">accounts<\/a>, do not feature the communist banner art.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore it is likely that someone who manages Elon Musk and other Tesla social media accounts in China made the decision to honour the murderous regime.<\/p>\n<p>The social media campaign in China comes as the billionaire tech magnate drew criticism this week for celebrating the CCP on Western social media.<\/p>\n<p>On the anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party, Musk posted a response to the CCP\u2019s newswire agency Xinhua on Twitter \u2014 a service which is banned in China \u2014&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1410413958805270533\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">saying<\/a>:&nbsp;\u201cThe economic prosperity that China has achieved is truly amazing, especially in infrastructure! I encourage people to visit and see for themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Xinhua post Musk responded to was quoting Chinese dictator Xi Jinping, who claimed: \u201cChina has realised the first centenary goal \u2014 building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. This means that we have brought about a historic resolution to the problem of absolute poverty in China, and we are now marching in confident strides toward the second centenary goal of building China into a great modern socialist country in all respects.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And continuing his efforts to please Chinese government officials, Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2021\/11\/02\/elon-musk-pleases-his-communist-chinese-overlords-by-posting-ancient-poem-to-social-media\/\">tweeted an ancient Chinese poem about two brothers fighting in November 2021.<\/a>&nbsp;Breitbart News wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk recently tweeted a Chinese poem about two brothers fighting out of jealousy, adding in English, \u201cHumankind.\u201d The meaning behind the tweet has caused much debate across Twitter and the Chinese social media network Weibo.<\/p>\n<p>The poem describes the story of two brothers from a royal family during China\u2019s Three Kingdoms period and is commonly taught in Chinese primary schools as a lesson about getting along and working together.
