While Uyghur groups have welcomed the move, China began shipping its Uyghur slaves nationwide at least <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2020\/03\/02\/study-nike-apple-bmw-among-83-brands-using-chinese-muslim-slave-labor\/\">since<\/a> early 2020, suggesting that genocide-fueled slavery is powering an untold number of factories outside the region.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Xinjiang, a western region locals call East Turkistan, is the homeland of the Uyghur ethnic people, who are majority Muslim and have little culturally in common with the dominant Han ethnic group of eastern China. Human rights experts and two successive U.S. governments have concluded that the Chinese Communist Party\u2019s campaign of internment of Uyghurs at concentration camps, family separations, forced sterilizations and abortions, and mass enslavement constitutes genocide.<\/p>\n<p>Intel company officers have also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/sports\/2021\/07\/28\/coke-visa-airbnb-beijing-olympics-uyghur-genocide\/\">agreed<\/a> on the record that China is guilty of genocide. (David Becker\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe apologize for the trouble caused to our respected Chinese customers, partners and the public,\u201d a statement published in written Chinese text <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2021-12-23\/intel-apologises-in-china-over-xinjiang-supplier-statement\/100723468\">read<\/a> on Thursday. \u201cIntel is committed to becoming a trusted technology partner and accelerating joint development with China.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Intel claimed that its statement urging suppliers to avoid East Turkistan caused \u201cmany questions and concerns among our cherished Chinese partners, and we deeply regret it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The initial statement <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/12\/22\/china-launches-tsunami-of-anger-at-olympics-sponsor-intel-for-leaving-uyghur-slave-region\/\">caused<\/a> what the Chinese government propaganda newspaper&nbsp;<em>Global Times<\/em> called a \u201ctsunami of anger\u201d at Intel on Weibo, a Chinese government-controlled social media site. The outlet cited Chinese \u201cnetizens,\u201d social media users whose opinions align with the Communist Party, as the source of the alleged anger and warned that China could respond to the statement by elbowing Intel out of its lucrative businesses in the country.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to unnamed \u201cnetizens,\u201d Chinese pop star Wang Junkai, a corporate \u201cbrand ambassador\u201d for Intel in China, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaltimes.cn\/page\/202112\/1243143.shtml\">cut ties<\/a> with the company on Wednesday in defense of the Uyghur genocide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn a late-night statement on its Weibo official account, the studio of pop singer Wang Junkai, the brand ambassador for Intel Core, announced Wang\u2019s termination of all partnerships with Intel, effective immediately,\u201d the&nbsp;<em>Global Times<\/em> reported. \u201cThe burgeoning anger has the country\u2019s internet population figuring out ways to rectify wrongdoings, with Wang, the brand ambassador for Intel Core \u2013 the chipmaker\u2019s premium CPU series for PCs and laptops \u2013 in late May under pressure to \u2018unfriend\u2019 Intel.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>The Chinese propaganda newspaper quoted an anonymous alleged \u201cfan\u201d of Wang\u2019s applauding him for being a good \u201crole model\u201d and standing \u201cwith the national interest\u201d against condemnations of genocide.<\/p>\n<p>Intel has deep ties to the Chinese government. Intel computer chips are at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/11\/22\/technology\/china-intel-nvidia-xinjiang.html\">core<\/a> of a widespread surveillance system in East Turkistan used to monitor Uyghur people and repress those that either lack sufficient communist fervor or appear loyal to their Islamic faith or ethnic culture. Intel is also part of the Olympic Partner Program, the most expensive corporate sponsorship available, funding the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. (STR\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>On Thursday, the&nbsp;<em>Times<\/em> warned Intel that a groveling apology to the Communist Party for issuing a bland statement apparently in support of human rights would not be enough for China to attempt to sink the company through the development of its own computer chips.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChina is already accelerating development of its own chips, servers and other related products amid a US-waged tech war,\u201d the outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaltimes.cn\/page\/202112\/1243174.shtml\">claimed<\/a>, accusing Intel of issuing a \u201cnot sincere\u201d apology.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>China has not called on Intel to end its Olympic Partnership and not fund the event, a public relations coup for one of the world\u2019s most repressive governments.<\/p>\n<p>Intel did not mention the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act in its initial statement urging suppliers to avoid East Turkistan, but the Chinese Communist Party has expressed apprehension at the potential ramifications of the bill should Biden sign it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe passage of the so-called \u2018Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act\u2019 is a new manifestation of Washington cooking up lies and creating troubles on Xinjiang-related issues,\u201d the state-run Xinhua News Agency&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.people.cn\/n3\/2021\/1222\/c90000-9936416.html\">declared<\/a> on Wednesday,&nbsp;\u201cseeking to contain China and holding back the development of the world\u2019s second largest economy through political manipulation and economic bullying in the name of \u2018human rights.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>China defends its enslavement of estimated millions of people by claiming that its concentration camps are \u201cvocational training centers\u201d where Uyghurs voluntarily submit to indoctrination that make them more desirable hires for Chinese businesses.
