Together, the projects will cost $689 million, be able to produce 465 megawatts of electricity, store 400 megawatts of energy and power 132,000 homes.<\/p>\n<p>Oberon, the third solar project mentioned in the announcement, would be built on 2,700 acres of public lands in Riverside County if approved, according to DOI. Fallon\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The three privately-funded projects are part of the Bureau of Land Management\u2019s (BLM) Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blm.gov\/programs\/planning-and-nepa\/plans-in-development\/california\/desert-renewable-energy-conservation-plan\">aims to develop<\/a> renewable energy sources across 10.8 million acres of public lands in California. That plan was nearly scrapped under the Trump administration until the Biden administration <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blm.gov\/press-release\/official-statement-department-interior-will-revoke-blms-comment-period-proposed\">revived it<\/a> in February.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRenewable energy projects like Arica and Victory Pass on public lands create good-paying jobs and are crucial in achieving the Biden-Harris administration\u2019s goal of a carbon pollution-free power sector by 2035,\u201d BLM Director Tracy Stone-Manning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blm.gov\/press-release\/blm-approves-arica-and-victory-pass-solar-projects\">said<\/a> in a statement Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInvesting in clean and reliable renewable energy represents the BLM\u2019s commitment for addressing climate change,\u201d she said. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/13\/china-xinjiang-uyghurs-solar-panel-forced-labor-human-rights\/\">(RELATED: Green Energy Push Is Contributing To Forced Labor, Slavery)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President Joe Biden has pushed renewable energy alternatives aggressively since taking office in January. The White House has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2021\/04\/22\/fact-sheet-president-biden-sets-2030-greenhouse-gas-pollution-reduction-target-aimed-at-creating-good-paying-union-jobs-and-securing-u-s-leadership-on-clean-energy-technologies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">outlined<\/a> plans to ensure the entire grid is carbon-free by 2035 and the economy reaches net zero emissions by 2050.<\/p>\n<p>In October, the Biden administration <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/13\/joe-biden-interior-department-wind-farm-renewable-energy\/\">announced<\/a> funding for seven wind farms off the east and west coasts which would have a total capacity of 30 gigawatts by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>However, solar and wind endeavors have been <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/15\/joe-biden-interior-department-deb-haaland-europe-energy-wind\/\">criticized<\/a> by experts who say the energy sources are unreliable and intermittent.
