This person just does not get it and I\u2019m sorry to hear that. But you know what? He has a responsibility to have \u2013 if you want to do reform, that\u2019s great. No one argues about reforming any system of government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut when you fly in the face of common sense, the fact that we have in our country, L.A. County \u2026 I have a 92% increase in homicides in two years. I have a 16% increase in grand-theft auto. I have a \u2018zero bail\u2019 schedule, which means every person I catch with a stolen car gets a ticket, walks out of jail \u2026 in fact, they\u2019re out of jail before they\u2019re even done writing the report, the deputies,\u201d he continued, before taking aim at Boudin\u2019s claim.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd this person [Boudin] claims it\u2019s a \u2018knee-jerk reaction\u2019 to go back to holding people accountable? I think the old-fashioned \u2018having people suffer the consequences for engaging in crime\u2019 means something,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd it\u2019s people \u2026 They live in this \u2018woke palace\u2019 where they\u2019re not affected by the policies, but the average person IS impacted by them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Villanueva also claimed <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/02\/17\/los-angeles-county-district-attorney-george-gascon-resigns-california-district-attorney-association-group-publicity-stunt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Los Angeles District Attorney George Gasc\u00f3n<\/a> has tossed more than 12,000 cases rather than prosecute suspects. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/14\/los-angeles-sheriff-left-wing-district-attorney-called-pig\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: LA Sheriff Hits Back At Left-Wing District Attorney Who Called Him \u2018A Pig\u2019)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7341407\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7341407\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">SAN FRANCISCO, CA \u2013 DECEMBER 09: San Francisco district attorney George Gascon speaks during a new conference to announce a civil consumer protection action against rideshare company Uber on December 9, 2014 in San Francisco, California.&nbsp; (Justin Sullivan\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cWhat we need now is, we need responsible district attorneys who are going to file their cases. And if they want to play the role of public defender, they should just quit their job and go over to the public defenders \u2013 and everything they say makes perfect sense for a public defender, not a district attorney,\u201d Villanueva concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Violent <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/06\/la-residents-violent-crime-wealthy-neighborhoods\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">crime rates<\/a> throughout Los Angeles have been on the rise for two years, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2021-12-04\/brutal-brazen-incidents-push-crime-into-focus-in-l-a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Los Angeles Times<\/a> reported. Car thefts are up nearly 53% while homicides are up 46.7% from 2019. In one of the city\u2019s wealthiest neighborhoods, Beverly Hills, violent crime jumped 23% in the last two years, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>Gasc\u00f3n <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/11\/17\/magazine\/george-gascon-los-angeles.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">vowed<\/a> to reverse harsh-on-crime policies when he was elected in December of 2020. Among his reforms, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/23\/george-gascon-los-angeles-district-attorney-recall-efforts-progressive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gasc\u00f3n<\/a>&nbsp;announced in November he would <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/16\/crime-spikes-and-lapd-tells-los-angelenos-just-be-a-victim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">release<\/a> a convicted murderer who served six-years of his 50-year sentence.
