The cut off date coincides with the departure de Blasio. He will be followed by Democrat mayor-elect Eric Adams, who will take office January 1, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The program is being offered through \u2018NYC Health and Hospitals\u2019 and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/Top_News\/US\/2021\/12\/21\/new-york-nyc-mayor-bill-de-blasio-cash-incentive-encourage-covid19-booster-shot\/1571640123801\/\">Medicaid<\/a> healthcare network \u2018SOMOS\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>In a Twitter <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NYCMayor\/status\/1473432365540253697?s=20\">post<\/a> announcing the scheme, de Blasio advised New Yorkers to \u201cget those booster shots, and help make your family safer, and help make this whole city safer\u201d.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The NYC Mayor also highlighted the financial element saying: \u201cYou\u2019ll have some more cash in your pocket at the same time.
