Tony Evers (D-WI) to fire Milwaukee County District Attorney (DA) John Chisholm in the aftermath of the Waukesha Christmas parade&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/crime\/2021\/11\/22\/five-killed-in-waukesha-christmas-parade-massacre-identified\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">massacre<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Under Wisconsin law, taxpayers may submit a verified complaint to the governor requesting a district attorney be ousted for cause. Taxpayers recently filed such a complaint to Evers\u2019 office requesting Chisholm be removed from office.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The complaint was organized by Orville Seymer, a member of Citizens for Responsible Government. Seymer signed the notarized complaint with six other individuals.<\/p>\n<p>These Milwaukee County taxpayers are asking for Chisholm\u2019s removal due to the low amount of bail Darrell E. Brooks Jr received. Brooks, who killed six people when he drove his vehicle through the Waukesha Christmas parade, is currently being held on a $5 million bail for the six homicide charges.<\/p>\n<p>However, just days before the Christmas parade massacre, Brooks was&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/crime\/2021\/12\/03\/milwaukee-da-blames-waukesha-suspects-bail-release-assistant-da-computer-error\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">released<\/a>&nbsp;on $1,000 bail for \u201ca serious weapons-related offense.\u201d Chisholm faced intense criticism for Brooks\u2019 low amount of bail. Further, Chisholm\u2019s office&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MSpicuzzaMJS\/status\/1462835382857486336\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">admitted<\/a>&nbsp;the bail amount was \u201cinappropriately low\u201d in light of Brooks\u2019s criminal history and pending charges.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Chisholm blamed Brooks\u2019s low bail on a novice assistant district attorney (ADA).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou had a young ADA trying to do the very best she could under difficult circumstances, and she made a mistake,\u201d Chisholm&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, Seymer still places blame with District Attorney Chisholm, telling local&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox6now.com\/news\/evers-firing-of-chisholm-milwaukee-county-da-sought-with-complaint\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"14\">\n<p>We\u2019ve got six people dead, including an 8-year-old boy, people\u2019s mothers and grandmothers, and there are thousands of people around southeast Wisconsin who are thinking, \u201cThat could have been my son, that could have been my mother, that could have been my grandmother\u201d and John Chisholm knew this could have happened.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Seymer noted that firing Chisholm is now a matter of public safety. \u201cI think it\u2019s in [Evers\u2019] best interest, and clearly, it\u2019s in the best interest of the people of southeast Wisconsin to fire John Chisholm and make southeast Wisconsin a safer place,\u201d he&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox6now.com\/news\/evers-firing-of-chisholm-milwaukee-county-da-sought-with-complaint\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Reporters questioned Gov. Evers about the complaint on Monday, but the governor did not give any definitive answers about Chisholm\u2019s fate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll take it seriously but no prognosis as to what decision will be made,\u201d said Evers.<\/p>\n<p>Evers told reporters it is \u201ctoo early\u201d to say if Chisholm will be fired.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s too early to answer the latter question, but clearly, we do now have a letter,\u201d he&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox6now.com\/news\/evers-firing-of-chisholm-milwaukee-county-da-sought-with-complaint\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>. \u201cWe have to verify that yet and make sure it\u2019s Milwaukee County people that have submitted it, but we\u2019ll do an investigation.
