Pat Toomey (R-PA) reacted to Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) rejecting President Joe Biden\u2019s so-called \u201cBuild Back Better\u201d agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Toomey praised Manchin for pushing back against his colleagues\u2019 attempt to \u201cturn America into a socialist welfare state.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI give Joe [Manchin] a lot of credit,\u201d Toomey stated. \u201cThe amount of abuse and flack he has taken from some of his colleagues, from the left-wing all over America. It\u2019s really pretty shocking when you think about it \u2014 here is one Democrat in the United States Senate, one Democrat, who thinks maybe it\u2019s not a good idea to turn America into a socialist welfare state. Maybe we should just pause here, especially at a time when we have a record-high amount of debt, inflation at a 40-year high. Do we really want to spend many trillions more? Just \u2014 let\u2019s have a pause, and they blow him up for that? Unbelievable.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Toomey recalled how Biden campaigned as a moderate centrist but argued he has \u201cgoverned from the hard left.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know very well [Biden] campaigned as the moderate centrist \u2014 the guy who is going to bring America together, use his decades in Washington to strike deals, to find compromise and consensus. And it\u2019s been the exact opposite,\u201d he declared. \u201cHe\u2019s governed from the hard left. Let\u2019s be honest \u2014 this is Bernie Sanders\u2019 bill. And that\u2019s why Bernie Sanders is so livid with Joe Manchin right now. There has been no centrist, and really across the board, all of Joe Biden\u2019s policies have been appeasing the radical left. Well, Joe Manchin never signed up for that program.
