Biden ended up talking to reporters about his massive $2 trillion spending bill and Democratic West Virginia Sen. He also cited the recent dip in gas prices as proof that his efforts are working. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/12\/biden-walks-away-from-question-about-rising-prices-for-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Biden Walks Away From Question About Rising Prices For Americans)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not supposed to be having this press conference right now,\u201d Biden went on to say, as reporters asked him more questions.<\/p>\n<p>Manchin derailed Biden\u2019s spending bill Sunday when <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/19\/joe-manchin-no-vote-joe-biden-build-back-better-spending-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announced<\/a> his opposition to the bill. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Monday the Senate would still <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/20\/schumer-build-back-better-vote-january-joe-manchin-democrats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">vote<\/a> on the bill regardless of Manchin\u2019s support.<\/p>\n<p>White House press secretary Jen Psaki also <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/20\/build-back-better-act-jen-psaki-joe-biden-reationship-joe-manchin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">refused<\/a> to answer questions from reporters about Biden\u2019s relationship with Manchin after the West Virginia senator\u2019s announcement. Instead, Psaki referred reporters to her <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/19\/jen-psaki-joe-manchin-joe-biden-build-back-better-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statement<\/a> made Sunday about Manchin\u2019s decision to vote no.<\/p>\n<p>The Consumer Price Index (CPI) <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/10\/inflation-consumer-price-index-joe-biden-jerome-powell-bureau-labor-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">increased<\/a> 6.8% so far this year, with a 0.9% increase in November alone.
