I\u2019m demanding they answer for putting corporate profits over consumers and workers during the pandemic. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/NvY2MKKJNP\">https:\/\/t.co\/NvY2MKKJNP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Elizabeth Warren (@SenWarren) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenWarren\/status\/1473068035980333063?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 20, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Spurred by a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/supply-chain-crisis-leads-to-shortage-of-chicken-tenders-second-chicken-shortage-in-2021\/\">supply-chain crisis<\/a> born of massive pandemic-related shutdowns, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/thanks-to-inflation-the-typical-american-family-took-a-3500-hit-this-year\/\">inflation<\/a> reached its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/business\/economy\/consumer-prices-rose-68-percent-november-inflation-hits-highest-40-yea-rcna8283\">highest point<\/a> in nearly four decades this November.<\/p>\n<p>According to NBC:<\/p>\n<p class><em>The greatest increases were seen in gasoline, up 6.1 percent; shelter, up 0.5 percent; food, up 0.7 percent; used cars and trucks, up 2.5 percent; and new vehicles, up 1.1 percent.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class><em>Rents also rose by 0.4 percent; and meat, poultry, fish and eggs were up by 0.9 percent. Pork prices rose especially sharply, up 2.2 percent.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>President Joe Biden responded to the sharp uptick in consumer prices by blaming the pandemic, saying, \u201cToday\u2019s numbers reflect the pressures that economies around the world are facing as we emerge from a global pandemic \u2014 prices are rising.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But as prices continued to rise, Biden and other began to shift the blame.
