The Super PAC&#8217;s only public comment on the matter was to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/john-weaver-former-mccain-aide-acknowledges-inappropriate-messages-32de0ee5-bf9d-4574-945c-bc0ef4777b81.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tell<\/a> a <em>Washington<\/em>\u00a0<em>Free Beacon<\/em> alumnus that Weaver&#8217;s statement of apology &#8220;speaks for itself.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It is unclear the extent to which Weaver&#8217;s colleagues at the Lincoln Project may have enabled his predatory behavior or helped cover it up.<\/p>\n<p>In his so-called apology, Weaver admitted only to having &#8220;consensual mutual conversations&#8221; that made his victims feel &#8220;uncomfortable.&#8221; That assertion is contradicted by at least one individual who received an unsolicited photo of Weaver&#8217;s penis and <a href=\"https:\/\/forensicnews.net\/lincoln-project-founder-accused-of-harassment-grooming\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> <em>Forensic News<\/em>, &#8220;I didn\u2019t ask for it nor reciprocate, so there was no consent.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Weaver went on to suggest that\u00a0the young men accusing him of more serious transgressions\u2014such as &#8220;grooming&#8221; them by offering lucrative career opportunities in exchange for sex\u2014were lying for political reasons.
