Some social media users have been sharing a video of what appears to be typhoon-level rain and winds, claiming it shows the effects of Odette.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTyphoon Odette,\u201d reads the video\u2019s caption. \u201cHappening now in Maasin, Southern Leyte.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/03\/09\/fact-check-joe-biden-threaten-cancel-visas-philippines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Joe Biden Threaten To \u2018Cancel All US Visas To Be Issued In The Philippines\u2019?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While the video does show the effects of a typhoon in the Philippines, it does not show Odette. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact discovered the video actually depicts Typhoon Goni, also known as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/10\/31\/world\/asia\/typhoon-goni-rolly-philippines.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Typhoon Rolly<\/a>, in the Philippines, which hit the country last year, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-asia-54759868\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BBC News<\/a>. PhilStar.com, a Filipino news outlet, posted the video on its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/philstarnews\/videos\/3381430755226413\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook page<\/a> on Nov. 1, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe situation of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/hashtag\/rollyph?__eep__=6%2F&amp;__tn__=*NK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" shape=\"rect\">#RollyPH<\/a> in Buhi, Camarines Sur, where Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal #4 has been raised as of 11 a.m,\u201d reads the caption of the video.<\/p>\n<p>The Manila Standard, a Filipino news outlet, also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=410154556673404\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">published<\/a> the video as part of a report about the 2020 typhoon. The typhoon killed at least 20 people and caused significant damage to the region, according to the Filipino news outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rappler.com\/nation\/super-typhoon-rolly-death-toll-november-2-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rappler<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Check Your Fact has previously debunked claims related to the Philippines.
