Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) also took to social media to criticize President Biden, urging him to use his executive authority \u201cnow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBiden needs to lean on his executive authority now. He has been delaying and underutilizing it so far. But a smooth transition back into repayment is a high priority for the administration,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Student loan payments resume February 1, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/12\/chuck-schumer-great-day-for-biden-to-cancel-student-debt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">admitted<\/a> at the beginning of the year that he had no intention of canceling up to $50,000 in student loan debt, to the dismay of his Democrat colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>Biden is expected to deliver a speech on the omicron variant on Tuesday.
