Joe Manchin (D-WV) effectively killed Democrats\u2019 hopes of passing President Joe Biden\u2019s $1.75 trillion spending package on Sunday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) tried to keep the administration\u2019s dream alive by offering a little hope that the Build Back Better (BBB) plan could still make it to the president\u2019s desk.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a press release following Manchin\u2019s comments on \u201cFox News Sunday,\u201d Pelosi said she was disappointed that BBB will not be passed by the end of the year, but she is still hopeful that Democrats could reach an agreement by next year. \u201cFirst and foremost, our work For The People demands that we stay at the table to pass the Build Back Better Act,\u201d she said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.speaker.gov\/newsroom\/121921\">statement<\/a>. \u201cWhile it is disappointing that we may not have a law by the end of the year, we are hopeful that we will soon reach agreement so that this vital legislation can pass as soon as possible next year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During an interview with Bret Baier on \u201cFox News Sunday,\u201d Manchin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/this-is-a-no-joe-manchin-says-he-cannot-vote-to-continue-on-build-back-better\">said<\/a> he could not support the trillion-dollar Democrat spending package. \u201cI\u2019ve done everything humanly possible. And you know my concerns I had, and I still have these concerns,\u201d he said in the interview.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Later, Manchin added, \u201cIf I can\u2019t go home and explain it to the people of West Virginia, I can\u2019t vote for it, and I cannot vote to continue with this piece of legislation. I just can\u2019t. I\u2019ve tried everything humanly possible, I can\u2019t get there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Republicans have stood united against this legislation in the Senate, forcing Democrats to convince all of their members to vote for the package, a task the party could not accomplish. Some Republicans have stood beside Manchin and even praised him for standing his ground. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Biden\u2019s mega-spending bill is dead and Joe Manchin put the nail in the coffin,\u201d Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/nail-in-the-coffin-republican-senator-praises-joe-manchin-for-decision-on-build-back-better\">said<\/a> on Sunday. \u201cThis should be a reality check to wild-eyed progressives that they are not the mainstream: With a divided country, a 50-50 Senate, and blowout inflation, the American people don\u2019t want to upend this country with nakedly-partisan legislation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Texas Republican Rep.
