Version: 4.0.47--><div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/GettyImages-660087628-640x335-1.png\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"subheading\">Prime Minister Boris Johnson may be out of office \u201csooner than almost anybody thinks\u201d according to Brexit leader Nigel Farage.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past month, the future of Boris Johnson\u2019s leadership has been thrown into question in the wake of an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/12\/17\/another-blow-for-boris-conservatives-lose-ultra-safe-north-shropshire-seat-in-special-election\/\">embarrassing election defeat<\/a> to the Liberal Democrats in the North Shropshire parliamentary by-election and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/12\/14\/tory-rebels-crushed-by-combined-weight-of-government-and-opposition-in-uk-lockdown-vote\/\">large rebellion<\/a> from within his own party against the latest round of coronavirus restrictions.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Mr Johnson was dealt another blow on Saturday after it emerged that a key Cabinet member, Brexit negotiator Lord David Frost had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/12\/19\/brexit-minister-frost-resigns-over-bojos-lockdowns-green-agenda-high-taxes\/\">resigned<\/a> from his post over the government\u2019s high-tax, green-focussed Build Back Better agenda, and the push for the introduction of COVID passports in England.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the resignation of Lord Frost on Sunday evening, Nigel Farage hailed the former Brexit negotiator for actually believing in the cause of the UK\u2019s independence from the European Union as opposed to the PM, whom he accused of supporting Brexit for cynical careerist motivations.<\/p>\n<p>While Mr Farage acknowledged that previous political leaders in Britain, such as former Prime Minster Margaret Thatcher faced similar threats to their leadership, he noted that at least Mrs Thatcher had a clear ideological vision, with supporters of her conservative agenda.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Johnson, on the other hand, has the problem of not \u201cactually believing in anything,\u201d the arch Brexiteer claimed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe needs to decide pretty&nbsp;much immediately what he stands for [and] get&nbsp;a team of loyal folk around him, otherwise I think this governmental&nbsp;disintegration will continue and you&nbsp;know what he might be gone sooner than&nbsp;almost anybody thinks,\u201d Farage warned.<\/p>\n<p>On top of internal political strife, the prime minister is also facing public widespread criticism over apparent breaches of his own lockdown policies last year after pictures emerged of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/12\/08\/boris-press-spox-allegra-stratton-resigns-from-govt-role-amid-swirling-lockdown-party-claims\/\">Downing Street Christmas party<\/a> and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/politics\/2021\/dec\/19\/boris-johnson-and-staff-pictured-with-wine-in-downing-street-garden-in-may-2020\">wine and cheese gathering<\/a> in May of 2020, which the government has claimed was merely a \u201cwork meeting\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"7.5155279503106\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Brexit Minister Frost Resigns over Boris Johnson\u2019s Tax Hikes, Lockdown Lunacy <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/HLES5xauqs\">https:\/\/t.co\/HLES5xauqs<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1472556068689563648?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 19, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Though rumours have swirled in the press about Johnson\u2019s potential political downfall, it remains to be seen if a leadership challenge would be successful.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Indeed, Mr Johnson\u2019s predecessor, Theresa May, was able to cling to power despite challenges to her leadership over her failures to deliver Brexit. May was also in a much more precarious position than Johnson after losing the Conservative majority in the House of Commons with her&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2017\/06\/08\/livewire-uk-snap-election-results\/\">calling<\/a>&nbsp;of a snap General Election in 2017, leaving her leadership dependent on a coalition with the&nbsp;Northern Ireland\u2019s Democratic Unionist Party (DUP).<\/p>\n<p>May survived attempts to topple her government in a no-confidence vote, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2019\/04\/22\/enough-is-enough-tory-chairmen-trigger-extraordinary-general-meeting-to-sack-theresa-may\/\">attempts<\/a> from within <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2019\/04\/08\/brexiteer-francois-calls-second-party-confidence-vote-theresa-may\/\">her own party<\/a> to alter the party rules to oust her, and even a Conservative grassroots effort to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2019\/05\/01\/may-faces-grassroots-bid-oust-her-first-time-185-years\/\">trigger<\/a> their own vote of no confidence for the first time in the Tory Party history.<\/p>\n<p>The former prime minister was ultimately forced to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2019\/05\/24\/finally-uk-prime-minister-theresa-may-announces-resignation-after-three-year-brexit-failure\/\">resign<\/a> after failing to come to a Brexit agreement with the European Union that could pass the House of Commons.
