This policy of inflating the labor supply&nbsp; allowed many employers to launch many low-productivity companies that cannot survive a higher-wage economy, he added.<\/p>\n<p>President Donald Trump\u2019s popular migration curbs and the coronavirus disease together burst the cheap-labor bubble,&nbsp;Law said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"6.8698224852071\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The pro-amnesty billionaires lust for cheap labor to fatten their already enormous profits. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/tOYwhYENC6\">https:\/\/t.co\/tOYwhYENC6<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1327699558495887363?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 14, 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Hasit Patel is an Indian legal immigrant who operates the two-star La Quinta franchise&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/La_Quinta_Inns_%26_Suites\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">budget hotel<\/a>&nbsp;where Rolle worked for roughly $8.50 an hour before she took her $15-an-hour job at Target.<\/p>\n<p>Patel\u2019s business plan depended on cheap migrant labor, according to what he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/business\/2021\/12\/12\/quitting-great-resignation-downside-labor-shortage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told the <em>Washington Post<\/em><\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"10\">\n[His] struggle to find [replacement] labor felt like a blow to his whole notion of what made America great. An immigrant from India, he believed that the health of the U.S. economy was protected by a constant refreshing of the workforce, an injection of striving immigrants willing to take on some of the unpleasant jobs that many Americans are loath to do \u2014 like cleaning [his] hotel rooms.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Patel\u2019s expectation was rational: From 1990 to 2017, the federal government inflated the labor force by adding roughly one migrant \u2014 both legal and illegal \u2014 for every three Americans who joined the workforce.<\/p>\n<p>That economic policy of inflating the labor supply slowed in the 2008 crash and came to a sudden halt in 2020 when President Donald Trump closed the borders to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Overall, the federal government imported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/12\/13\/census-data-shows-trumps-immigration-win\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">5 million<\/a> fewer foreigners from 2010 to 2020 \u2014 including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/17\/jpmorgan-wages-productivity-jumped-amid-trumps-low-migration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3 million<\/a> fewer from 2017 to 2020 \u2014 compared to prior decades, according to&nbsp;recent reports.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>The <em>Post<\/em> report continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"9\">\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t compete with the warehouses for wages,\u201d Patel said. \u201cThe government should let us get people from India, even just for six months. The government has to realize there are certain job categories that American people don\u2019t want to do anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <em>Post<\/em> did not explain how Patel would import temporary workers from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quora.com\/Which-category-is-Patel-caste?share=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">caste-divided<\/a> India, where half the workers earn less than $100 per week. But the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tag\/b-1-b-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">B-1\/B-2 visa<\/a>&nbsp;is used by some Indians to legally visit for six months \u2014 and illegal work while they are in the United States.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>So, without a supply of very cheap workers from his home country, Patel reluctantly raised Americans\u2019 wages \u201cfrom $8.50 to nearly $11 an hour and offered more flexible schedules,\u201d&nbsp; the <em>Post<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Post<\/em> says Patel is a franchise operator. That effectively means he is an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/working-in-the-united-states\/temporary-workers\/e-2-treaty-investors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">imported manager<\/a> for La Quinta\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.wyndhamhotels.com\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">parent company<\/a>, its <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.wyndhamhotels.com\/about-us\/board-of-directors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">board<\/a>, and its <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/WH\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">investors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Post<\/em> reported similar recruitment problems at a Liberty County nightclub, a barber, and a local restaurant where the headcount fell from 42 to 12.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Those county problems are mirrored nationwide.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"8.0295566502463\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Trump&#8217;s tight labor market from 2017 to 2019 pulled many left-behind Americans into work and jobs, says a report by JPMorgan. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/tRyZonO5Wf\">https:\/\/t.co\/tRyZonO5Wf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1461385037602041868?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 18, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>For the last few decades, multiple industries used the flood of new legal and illegal immigrants to create immediate profits and stock values. They have minimized investments in productivity-boosting technology, cut blue-collar wages, slashed training of non-college Americans, and chewed up workers because they could be replaced with more young Americans and more migrants.<\/p>\n<p>The meatpacking, trucking, home construction, agriculture, retail, and food services sectors all reshaped their businesses to maximize profit from a vast pool of powerless, low-productivity workers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t like to say this much, but it has long been the practice of many restaurants to hire staff as inexpensively as possible and provide them with the fewest benefits that they can, often by restricting their hours so they don\u2019t qualify as full-time employees,\u201d Bret Thorn, the&nbsp;senior food &amp; beverage editor for&nbsp;<em>Nation\u2019s Restaurant News<\/em>. told a national industry meeting in October. \u201cWe all know this,\u201d he&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/10\/18\/restaurant-execs-less-migration-means-better-treatment-u-s-workers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">added<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"11\">\n<p>I guess that can be a good business plan when the labor pool is deep, which it\u2019s not now and I doubt will be for the foreseeable future, but it\u2019s also cruel, and a growing number of people who have worked in restaurants now see that they can do better, and that they deserve better.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s going on in the industry today \u2026 is historic,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/10\/18\/restaurant-execs-less-migration-means-better-treatment-u-s-workers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">added<\/a> Rick Badgley, an executive at&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.brinker.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">Brinker International<\/a>&nbsp;which owns the Chili\u2019s Maggiano\u2019s Little Italy restaurant chains. He urged managers to reward and respect their once-disposable workers:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"11\">\n<p>You\u2019ve got to be receptive to feedback \u2026 The workforce that we\u2019re dealing with now has high standards, high demands, and high expectations. Make sure you\u2019re investing the time to listen, listen to your team members, they have invaluable feedback for you.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In Liberty County, some local leaders told the <em>Post<\/em> that the federal government should force people to work by reducing financial aid:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"15\">\n<p>Any return to life as it was, said [Donald] Lovette, chairman of the County Commission, will require redefining the relationship between workers and the government benefits they expect. \u201cIt\u2019s not that people are lazy,\u201d he said, \u201cit\u2019s that some of them are better off financially by not paying for child care, staying home for a while, using their benefits to pay down some debt. It\u2019s simple economics.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>But there are plenty of locals eager to work at high-productivity workplaces that can pay higher wages than the budget hotels and cut-price restaurants. The <em>Pos<\/em>t reported:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"12\">\n<p>The warehouses that turned open fields into beehives of loading and shipping could afford to raise wages and keep the flow of new workers strong. Rick Haslett, the operations manager at a new Home Meridian furnishings warehouse, said he received 100 applications for the 50 jobs he had to fill this fall. He had to promise 50-cent hourly raises every six months to draw enough interest, but his $15 hourly wage for laborers was a big boost for people coming from smaller, minimum-wage businesses across the county.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite the loud claims of a worker \u201cshortage,\u201d the county\u2019s workforce is <a href=\"https:\/\/fred.stlouisfed.org\/series\/LAUCN131790000000005\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">slightly higher<\/a>&nbsp;that the pre-coronavirus workforce, when 25,229 people were working.<\/p>\n<p>But the county is still poor and has been for decades.&nbsp;The per-capital income grew by a little over 1 percent per year from 19675 to 2019. After-inflation income grew faster under President Donald Trump, by roughly 2 percent per year, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/fred.stlouisfed.org\/series\/PCPI13179\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hit $36,969<\/a>&nbsp;in 2019, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.<\/p>\n<div readability=\"14.198717948718\">\n<p>Immigration gets some of the blame for the county\u2019s poverty.<\/p>\n<p>The federal government uses legal and illegal immigration to spike economic growth. But the vast majority of migrants have no roots in heartland America, so they settle in the coastal states, such as New York and Los Angeles. In turn, this massive coastal workforce means <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/08\/13\/zuckerbergs-data-says-amnesty-gives-economic-windfall-coastal-democratic-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">there is&nbsp;little pressure<\/a> on investors in New York or Los Angeles to create factories and well-paying jobs in distant Liberty County.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>So <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Liberty_County,_Georgia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liberty County<\/a>&nbsp;remains under-developed and poor while people grow investment, jobs and wealth in California, New York, Texas, and Florida.&nbsp;County-wide, less than 60 percent of people older than 16 worked during the 2015 to 2019 period, according to Census Bureau <a href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/quickfacts\/libertycountygeorgia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">data<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"8.4304932735426\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Shortages of supplies and labor slowed growth in the services sector while pushing prices higher in June, a pair of business surveys revealed Tuesday. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6oRTKLxbz5\">https:\/\/t.co\/6oRTKLxbz5<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1413209749278109702?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 8, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Nationwide, politicians are facing pressures from companies who want the federal government to re-inflate the cheap-labor bubble that it&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2018\/12\/06\/bush-41s-mass-immigration-legacy-continues-taking-toll-on-u-s-3-decades-later\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">started in 1990<\/a>. In Washington, that business pressure has added three cheap-labor giveaways buried deep in the pending Build Back Better bill.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s deputies are trying to re-inflate the cheap-labor bubble. So far, they have imported roughly 1.5 million migrants \u2014 both legal immigrants and illegal migrants \u2014 during 2021.<\/p>\n<p>This massive wage-cutting, rent-spiking inflow is being welcomed into the country even while Biden praises <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/05\/31\/joe-biden-exposes-wages-vs-migration-split-in-white-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">labor shortages and rising wages<\/a>. So far, Biden\u2019s 2021 wave of migrants has not reached Patel\u2019s hotel, because most of them travel to cities where they can maximize their wages while saving rent by sharing apartments with other migrants.<\/p>\n<p>But politicians know that voters really do not want government officials putting migrants into the jobs that Americans need.<\/p>\n<p>For example, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers zig-zagged between business and the voters when reporters recently quizzed him about companies\u2019 demand for cheap imported workers, according to a December 15 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kenoshanews.com\/news\/state-and-regional\/evers-seeks-immigration-fix-to-address-worker-shortage\/article_c587e40e-4ebd-5668-ae9c-8326b92575c3.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> in KenoshaNews.com:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"13\">\n<p>\u201cIf at some point and time, we as a nation can figure out immigration issues, the entire country would be thankful for that,\u201d Evers said. \u201cThere are a shortage of workers, people, all across this country. For some reason, we haven\u2019t been able to figure that out.\u201d<br \/>[\u2026]\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote readability=\"15\">\n<p>Evers said he spoke to a large employer Monday night who echoed the workforce concerns heard by many. Evers said she told him if possible, she\u2019d head to the border and come back with as many workers as she could find. \u201cShe said, \u2018I\u2019d be glad to take two buses down to the border of Mexico and bring back people that are willing, who want to work and be good Americans, bring them back to Wisconsin. I\u2019ll pay for there housing and pay them $20 an hour to work, too,\u2019\u201d Evers said.<br \/>\u201cThat tells me that the immigration policy has to be fixed,\u201d Evers explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>But Evers knows that he will face the voters next year, so he scheduled the event to announce his award of $60 million in training grants for Americans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have people in the State of Wisconsin that have an opportunity now with these projects in different parts of the state to increase their job skills so they\u2019re more marketable,\u201d Evers continued. \u201cThis is the right approach to take.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But many business sectors keep demanding the federal government re-inflate the bubble.&nbsp;\u201cWhat they are currently doing \u2026 is just a bad business model, and that\u2019s why immigration is being used as a way of propping it up,\u201d said Law.<\/p>\n<p>Few media outlets have admitted the federal government\u2019s creation of the post-1990s cheap-labor bubble.
