But her Weibo account was quickly shut down and the post was deleted. (Photo by Wu Hong-Pool\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Shuai did appear in several government-sponsored posts with Chinese officials claiming that the athlete was not being re-educated out of her sexual assault claims and that she was still as free as any other Chinese subject.<\/p>\n<p>But now, Shuai was seen on camera denouncing anyone who may have \u201cmisunderstood\u201d her original, now-deleted post.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"5.4705882352941\">\n<p lang=\"zh\" dir=\"ltr\">\u5f6d\u5e05 \u91c7\u8bbf\u89c6\u9891 \u81ea\u5df1\u4ece\u672a\u53d7\u5230\u5f20\u9ad8\u4e3d\u6027\u4fb5 pengshuai <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kodDImEhVd\">pic.twitter.com\/kodDImEhVd<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 \ud83d\udd38 (@0_o_________o_O) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/0_o_________o_O\/status\/1472590379421601796?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 19, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cFirst, I need to stress one point that is extremely important, I have never said or written that anyone has sexually assaulted me, I have to clearly stress this point,\u201d Peng <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/lifestyle\/sports\/china-tennis-star-peng-denies-that-she-made%5B\u2026%5Dxual-assault-2021-12-19\/\" target=\" _blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> in the video posted by a media outlet in Singapore, Reuters reported.<\/p>\n<p>Shuai added that the message about Vice Premier Gaoli that was deleted by the Chinese government is a \u201cprivate matter\u201d and that people have had \u201cmany misunderstandings\u201d about what she was saying \u2014 though she did not elaborate on just what misunderstandings there could have been.<\/p>\n<p>The athlete also claimed that she had not disappeared and was just living in her home without supervision.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, she claimed that she wrote a letter to the Women\u2019s Tennis Association (WTA) telling them that there was no sexual assault and insisting that the accounts of her situation reported by Chinese state media outlets were accurate.<\/p>\n<p>On December 1, the WTA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/sports\/2021\/12\/01\/womens-tennis-association-suspends-all-tournaments-china-treatment-peng-shuai\/\" target=\" _blank\" rel=\"noopener\">withdrew<\/a> its support of all its events scheduled in China until it was satisfied that Shuai was free of oppression.
