State voter records show Halstead and Ketcik are registered Republicans. Rider has no party affiliation.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cYou commit fraud in the state of Florida, and we will do everything possible to catch and charge you,\u201d Wesley Wilcox, president of the Florida Supervisors of Elections\u2019 association, said. \u201cOne of the benefits of charging these people is it\u2019s a deterrent. It may take me a year to catch you, but I will catch you.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"6.4285714285714\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u2018We are not playing around.\u2019 Florida election officials hunt for snowbirds and others who voted twice in 2020 election <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/goUe2uuhLI\">https:\/\/t.co\/goUe2uuhLI<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OKSayMZqES\">pic.twitter.com\/OKSayMZqES<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Orlando Sentinel (@orlandosentinel) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/orlandosentinel\/status\/1471784538615566341?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 17, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <em>Sentinel<\/em> report continued:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"27\">\n<p>The state\u2019s Division of Elections flagged six potential instances of multiple ballots being cast by people who live in Lake County, Supervisor of Elections Alan Hays said. That information has been turned over to the State Attorney\u2019s Office, he said. He said he didn\u2019t know the party affiliation of the six people, and it wouldn\u2019t have any bearing on how the cases are handled.<\/p>\n<p>Osceola County election officials identified seven cases that they thought warranted further investigation, said Kari Ewalt, a spokesperson for Supervisor of Elections Mary Jane Arrington. Three of those cases involved registered Republicans, two were registered Democrats and two had no-party affiliation, she said.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not illegal to be registered to vote in multiple places, but casting more than one ballot in a federal election can land a person in serious legal trouble. In Florida, it\u2019s a felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIf you vote in Florida and I think you voted somewhere else, I am going to turn you in,\u201d Hays said. \u201cIf one person votes in two different places, that is one person too many.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGov.
