Joe Manchin (D-WV) says he opposes the plan.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, Manchin revealed that he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/12\/19\/joe-manchin-to-oppose-4-91-trillion-build-back-better-act-effectively-killing-bill\/\">will oppose<\/a> the Build Back Better Act \u2014 throwing a wrench into Biden\u2019s hallmark legislation of his administration.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s encouraging to see Senator Manchin\u2019s comments today, essentially killing his party\u2019s insane efforts to make an end-run around normal legislative procedures,\u201d RJ Hauman, with the Federation for American Immigration Reform, told Breitbart News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf he is true to his word, this will finally put an end to efforts to abuse the process and pass the largest amnesty in American history,\u201d Hauman said. \u201cIf he is not, this is his last term.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A vital component of the filibuster-proof reconciliation package, which needs 51 votes in the Senate, is a plan to provide amnesty for about 6.5 million illegal aliens.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The provisions <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/19\/cbo-joe-bidens-bill-will-invite-millions-of-new-migrants\/\">allow<\/a>&nbsp;millions of illegal aliens to secure work permits, ensuring more foreign competition against working and middle class Americans for often minimum wage jobs. The amnesty would cost American taxpayers about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/12\/06\/analysis-bidens-amnesty-to-cost-americans-nearly-500b-over-20-years\/\">$500 billion<\/a> over two decades.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cManchin\u2019s comments today on Fox News Sunday that he\u2019s a no on Build Back Better are gutting to immigration advocates who\u2019ve worked through months of negotiations, redrafting to meet Senate rules, reworking to satisfy House Dem factions, more redrafting\/strategizing,\u201d a Bloomberg reporter&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ellengilmer\/status\/1472572333747580935\">notes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, and even more important to corporate America, are provisions to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/09\/14\/amnesty-bill-grows-pipeline-foreign-workers-u-s-professional-careers\/\">blow the lid off<\/a> current legal immigration levels \u2014 where 1.2 million green cards and 1.5 million work visas are awarded annually to foreign nationals \u2014 for the benefit of multinational corporations.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, the reconciliation package would allow companies to import a limitless number of legal immigrants on employment-based green cards for at least a decade. Eventually, green card-holders would be able to apply for naturalized American citizenship.<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN)&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/10\/25\/bill-hagerty-urges-bernie-sanders-stand-against-democrats-corporate-carve-out-for-unlimited-immigration\/\">has described<\/a>&nbsp;the provisions as \u201cthe crown jewel of corporate lobbying\u201d while&nbsp;Amazon, Facebook, Intuit Inc, AT&amp;T, Verizon, Alphabet, Deloitte, the Microsoft Corporation, and IBM have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/30\/bidens-limitless-immigration-gets-big-push-from-multinational-corporations\/\">led lobbying efforts<\/a> to get the plan passed.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIf this is the end of BBB, it\u2019s a huge blow to immigrant advocates who have spent months lobbying for the reconciliation strategy,\u201d a reporter for Roll Call <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/carolinesimon66\/status\/1472580396701343749\">writes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Manchin had been urged for months by voters and legislators in West Virginia not to support the reconciliation package. In July, 32 West Virginia state legislators <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/07\/15\/west-virginia-legislators-joe-manchin-must-oppose-amnesty-deal-to-prioritize-american-workers-over-corporations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> to Manchin, asking him to oppose the immigration provisions of Biden\u2019s plan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPrioritizing the interests of workers over corporations demanding cheap labor means opposing amnesty in the budget deal,\u201d the legislators wrote. \u201cNational sovereignty does not exist if we do not have borders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, a Rasmussen Reports survey last month showed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/23\/poll-joe-manchins-constituents-oppose-amnesty-want-less-immigration-to-u-s\/\">63 percent<\/a> of West Virginia likely voters oppose Biden\u2019s amnesty plan and 65 percent said they would be less likely to support Manchin for reelection if he voted for the package.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>John Binder is a reporter for Breitbart News.
