Forty-eight percent of the&nbsp;Hispanic voters&nbsp;would support a generic Republican on the ballot if the election were held today, compared to the 46&nbsp;percent who support the generic Democrat. Four&nbsp;percent said they \u201cwould not vote,\u201d while only two percent said they were \u201cnot sure.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>However, this is a 42-point swing from 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The exit poll from the 2018 midterm election&nbsp;showed an estimated 69 percent of the&nbsp;Hispanic voters who voted for the Democrat in the&nbsp;congressional races nationwide, compared to the&nbsp;29 percent who backed the Republican candidate,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/election\/2018\/exit-polls\/\">data<\/a> compiled by Pew Research <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/fact-tank\/2018\/11\/09\/how-latinos-voted-in-2018-midterms\/\">showed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This means more&nbsp;Democrats had an&nbsp;advantage of more than&nbsp;two to one in 2018, when the party won a net 41 seats and took control of the House.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Scottrasmussen.com&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/scottrasmussen.com\/generic-ballot-republicans-44-democrats-38\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">explained<\/a> the decline in support for Democrats:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"11.589861751152\">\n<p>The decline in support for Democrats likely has many causes. In terms of legislation, the president\u2019s <a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/scottrasmussen.com\/25-support-build-back-better-tax-break-for-trial-lawyers-56-oppose\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">Build Back Better plan is weighed down by a large number of extraordinarily unpopular provisions<\/a>. Additionally, <a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/scottrasmussen.com\/32-believe-democracy-very-likely-to-end-within-generation-republicans-are-more-worried-than-democrats-dems-seen-as-bigger-threat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">Democrats are seen as a bigger threat to democracy<\/a> than Republicans. In their push for election reform, Democrats have sought legislation to outlaw <a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2021\/11\/election-reform-is-a-winning-issue-for-republicans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">three election reforms that are supported by more than 80 percent of voters.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Beyond specific legislation, there are many broader concerns. Most voters recognize that, compared to pre-pandemic numbers, there are <a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/scottrasmussen.com\/54-recognize-that-fewer-people-are-working-today-than-before-the-pandemic-21-mistakenly-believe-more-people-are-working\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">far fewer Americans with a job these days<\/a>. Politically, this is a very challenging issue for Democrats. Two-thirds of voters say economic issues are more important than cultural issues. Yet <a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/scottrasmussen.com\/65-more-interested-in-economic-issues-more-than-cultural-issues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">only 37% believe that Democratic politicians and activists are primarily interested in economic issues<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The same poll <a href=\"https:\/\/scottrasmussen.com\/generic-ballot-republicans-44-democrats-38\/\">conducted<\/a> by<em>&nbsp;<\/em>RMG Research also found that overall, Republicans led Democrats by six points on a generic ballot.<\/p>\n<p>Forty-four&nbsp;percent of registered voters said they would support a generic Republican on the ballot if the election were held today, compared to the 38 percent who support the generic Democrat. Nine percent said they \u201cwould not vote,\u201d while another ten percent said they were \u201cnot sure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The&nbsp;RMG Research, Inc was <a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/scottrasmussen.com\/generic-ballot-republicans-44-democrats-38\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">conducted<\/a> from December 8-10. The survey asked&nbsp;1,200 registered voters overall.
