I said, \u2018May I see your vax card? Everyone who comes in here has to show me the cards. So she said, \u2018Well, I\u2019m not staying here but this is what I\u2019m checking for.\u2019 I said, \u2018No, you can\u2019t be in here.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">\u201cI have my notices on the door so I am 100 percent in compliance and doing everything to the \u2018T\u2019 the way they want it. I told her, \u2018You\u2019re not above the law. You have to show me just like everybody else. There\u2019s no exception,&#8217;\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">\u201cShe asked what law I was talking about and I pointed to the signs we have hung on the front. I said, \u2018This ********,&#8217;\u201d she added:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"8\">\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">If I have to enforce these stupid mandates on my customers, then it\u2019s going to get enforced on agencies that come in here to check these things. It\u2019s my rule. I want everybody that walks in here \u2014 regardless if they\u2019re staying or not \u2014 to show a vaccination card.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">Advance\/SILive.com <a href=\"https:\/\/www.silive.com\/dining\/2021\/12\/it-was-a-case-of-do-as-i-say-not-as-i-do-nyc-covid-inspector-refuses-to-show-vaccination-card-to-south-shore-restaurant-manager.html?utm_campaign=statenislandadvance_sf&amp;utm_source=facebook&amp;utm_medium=social\">reached<\/a> out to the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) inquiring if the employee was vaccinated and asking if inspectors are also required to show proof of vaccination:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"14\">\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">A spokesman responded in an email, \u201cEmployees of the City of New York are required to be vaccinated, and health inspectors interacting with the public are vaccinated against COVID-19. Key2NYC requires that patrons show proof of vaccination upon entering an establishment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">When asked again specifically if the employee herself was vaccinated, the spokesman reiterated the point that all health inspectors are vaccinated. He pointed to verbiage in the Key2NYC mandate that the DOHMH reps wear face coverings and are not patrons.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"InContent_Center_Background\">\n<div class=\"InContent_Center_Padding\" readability=\"32.026229508197\">\n<div id=\"InContent_Center_2ZT3RIPZCJGFPJ45OMSYZ7C5WE\" class=\"ad-observer\" readability=\"34.937704918033\">Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/12\/06\/bill-de-blasios-ultimatum-parents-get-your-child-vaccinated-or-cannot-go-indoor-restaurants\/\">announced<\/a> the Key to NYC Pass in August, which requires businesses to discriminate against unvaccinated individuals by denying them entry. &nbsp;The Democrat mayor issued an ultimatum to parents last week, expanding the vaccine passport program to apply to children ages 5-11 as well.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-observer\" readability=\"13\">\n<p>\u201cThis is something that is going to keep kids safe and families safe. Go get your child vaccinated.
