Johnson.<\/p>\n<p>The panel seemingly attributed the recommendation to the concerns over blood clots, although the agency confirmed nine fatalities related to the blood clotting issue associated with the J&amp;J jab.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10318751\/CDC-panel-unanimously-recommends-Pfizer-Moderna-vaccine-instead-J-J.html\">Calling<\/a> the move \u201cunusual,\u201d the <em>Daily Mail <\/em>noted that the fate of the guidance now rests with CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, who will consider the recommendation:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote readability=\"13\">\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The CDC experts say that the two mRNA vaccines do not have the same risk, and unlike in the spring when vaccine supplies were tight, Pfizer and Moderna shots now are plentiful in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The J&amp;J shot also shows signs of being much less effective against the Omicron variant, and a booster is recommended just two months after the dose, opposed to six months for Pfizer and Moderna.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In April, federal agencies <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/health\/2021\/04\/13\/fda-cdc-call-for-immediate-pause-of-johnson-johnson-coronavirus-vaccine\/\">called<\/a> for the \u201cimmediate pause\u201d of J&amp;J\u2019s vaccine \u201cout of an abundance of caution.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;However, that was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/news\/with-ok-from-experts-some-states-resume-use-of-jj-vaccine\/\">short-lived<\/a>&nbsp;and resumed shortly after federal agencies gave a clear.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">While public health officials, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, have admitted that the Omicron variant&nbsp;\u201cmight even be less severe\u201d than the widespread Delta variant of the virus, there are, indeed, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/12\/07\/anthony-fauci-omicron-variant-might-even-be-less-severe-than-delta\/\">documented<\/a> cases of breakthrough infections.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">For example, at Cornell University, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/changing-america\/well-being\/prevention-cures\/585984-ivy-league-schools-covid-19-cases-rise-to-nearly\">reporting<\/a> 97 percent of staff, faculty, and students vaccinated, \u201cvirtually every case of the omicron variant to date has been found in fully vaccinated students, a portion of whom had also received a booster shot,\u201d according to&nbsp;Joel Malina, vice president for University Relations.<\/p>\n<p>According to the CDC\u2019s Friday data, over 203 million individuals in the U.S. are <a href=\"https:\/\/covid.cdc.gov\/covid-data-tracker\/#vaccinations_vacc-total-admin-rate-total\">considered<\/a> fully vaccinated, comprising 61.3 percent of the country\u2019s population.
