Nine percent said they \u201cwould not vote,\u201d while another ten percent said they were \u201cnot sure.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>In recent months, generic Republicans have dominated in the polls. In the&nbsp;Scott Rasmussen\/RMG Research, Inc. poll from November,&nbsp;generic Republicans led generic Democrats by three points, 38 percent to 35 percent.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>In October, three of the company\u2019s four polls showed generic Republicans leading generic Democrats by only one point. The fourth showed the&nbsp;generic Republicans and the generic Democrats even.<\/p>\n<p>The results are&nbsp;consistent with&nbsp;Gallup\u2019s&nbsp;party affiliation <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/15370\/party-affiliation.aspx\">data<\/a>. In April, the data showed that Democrats had a five-point advantage in party affiliation, but that had reversed by November, when Republicans had a four-point advantage. Independent voters grew from 40 percent to 41 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Scottrasmussen.com&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/scottrasmussen.com\/generic-ballot-republicans-44-democrats-38\/\">explained<\/a> the decline in support for Democrats:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"19.078341013825\">\n<p>The decline in support for Democrats likely has many causes. In terms of legislation, the president\u2019s Build Back Better plan is <a href=\"https:\/\/scottrasmussen.com\/25-support-build-back-better-tax-break-for-trial-lawyers-56-oppose\/\">weighed down <\/a>by a large number of extraordinarily unpopular provisions. Additionally, Democrats are seen as a bigger <a href=\"https:\/\/scottrasmussen.com\/32-believe-democracy-very-likely-to-end-within-generation-republicans-are-more-worried-than-democrats-dems-seen-as-bigger-threat\/\">threat<\/a> to democracy than Republicans. In their push for election reform, Democrats have sought legislation to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2021\/11\/election-reform-is-a-winning-issue-for-republicans\/\">outlaw<\/a> three election reforms that are supported by more than 80 percent of voters.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond specific legislation, there are many broader concerns. Most voters <a href=\"https:\/\/scottrasmussen.com\/54-recognize-that-fewer-people-are-working-today-than-before-the-pandemic-21-mistakenly-believe-more-people-are-working\/\">recognize<\/a> that, compared to pre-pandemic numbers, there are far fewer Americans with a job these days. Politically, this is a very challenging issue for Democrats. Two-thirds of voters say economic issues are more important than cultural issues. Yet only 37% <a href=\"https:\/\/scottrasmussen.com\/65-more-interested-in-economic-issues-more-than-cultural-issues\/\">believe<\/a> that Democratic politicians and activists are primarily interested in economic issues.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The poll,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/scottrasmussen.com\/generic-ballot-republicans-44-democrats-38\/\">conducted<\/a>&nbsp;December 8\u201310, asked&nbsp;1,200 registered voters for their responses.
