The claim stems from a satire website.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Amid the omicron variant of the coronavirus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/global-spread-omicron-cases-associated-travel-curbs-2021-11-29\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">spreading<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/khn.org\/morning-breakout\/omicron-spreads-globally-expected-to-be-dominant-in-eu-in-a-month\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">rapidly<\/a> across the globe, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kitty.brown.50309\/posts\/10222658898594267\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">multiple<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ziziphon\/posts\/4703240993069230\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook users<\/a> have shared what looks like a news headline saying, \u201cPfizer Scientists Warn Weekly Vaccinations May Be Needed For Omicron Variant COVID-19 To Prevent Lockdown.\u201d Pfizer is a pharmaceutical company that jointly developed a COVID-19 vaccine that was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/news-events\/press-announcements\/fda-approves-first-covid-19-vaccine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">approved<\/a> in August for people ages 16 and up by the Food and Drug Administration.<\/p>\n<p>A keyword search revealed the screen grab actually shows a <a href=\"https:\/\/thestonkmarket.com\/pfizer-scientists-warn-weekly-vaccinations-may-be-needed-for-omicron-variant-covid-19-to-prevent-lockdown\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dec. 1 article<\/a> published by The Stonk Market. At the bottom of The Stonk Market\u2019s website, it says: \u201cTheStonkMarket.com is a financial satire site.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Pfizer has not put out any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pfizer.com\/news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">press releases<\/a> stating that \u201cweekly vaccination\u201d against COVID-19 \u201cmay be needed.\u201d On Dec. 8, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pfizer.com\/news\/press-release\/press-release-detail\/pfizer-and-biontech-provide-update-omicron-variant\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announced<\/a> a preliminary laboratory study showed \u201cserum antibodies induced by the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine (BNT162b2) neutralize the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant after three doses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pfizer\u2019s CEO, Albert Bourla, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/12\/08\/cnbc-transcript-pfizer-chairman-and-ceo-albert-bourla-speaks-with-cnbcs-squawk-box-today.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">did say<\/a> on CNBC\u2019s \u201cSquawk Box\u201d in December that a fourth COVID-19 vaccine dose may be needed sooner than expected. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/11\/08\/fact-check-pfizer-albert-bourla-arrested-fbi-fraud\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Has Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla Been Arrested By The FBI On Fraud Charges?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the second point, I think we will need the fourth dose. I\u2019ve said that multiple times,\u201d he said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/12\/08\/cnbc-transcript-pfizer-chairman-and-ceo-albert-bourla-speaks-with-cnbcs-squawk-box-today.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a transcript<\/a>. \u201cWith the previous, I was projecting that that will be on 12 months after the third dose. With Omicron, we need to wait and see because we have very little information.
