The woman has been arrested and held in custody under suspicion of child neglect, following the deaths of the four children.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Richard Mills of the London Fire Brigade <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/sutton-four-children-die-in-house-fire-in-south-london-12497778\">confirmed<\/a> this, saying in comments reported by Sky News: \u201cOn arrival there were four children in the house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The cause of the fire was \u201cunknown\u201d, but the fire brigade stated that the blaze was \u201cvery well-developed\u201d by the time they arrived at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/2021\/12\/16\/sutton-fire-four-children-killed-blaze-house-south-london\/\">around 7pm<\/a> on Thursday evening.<\/p>\n<p>All four boys were carried out of the house by firefighters and were given emergency medical attention including CPR, before being taken to two hospitals in South London, where they tragically died.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The London Fire Brigade said emergency crews including around 60 firefighters and eight fire engines were sent to the property.<\/p>\n<p>The fire was reported to be \u201cunder control\u201d by&nbsp;8.36pm.<\/p>\n<p>A wreath bearing the names \u201cKyson, Bryson, Leyton and Logan\u201d signed \u201cGrandad\u201d was left outside the home.<\/p>\n<p>It has been confirmed that the children were all related.<\/p>\n<p>London Fire Commissioner Andy Roe said: \u201cThis is an incident that has left everyone numb with profound sadness. My thoughts are with the family and friends of the children, the whole local community and all those who will be affected by this fire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Fire Commissioner has said that the crews who attended the scene would be offered counselling.<\/p>\n<p>A neighbour suggested that she previously had no concerns about the welfare of the children, describing them as \u201ccute\u201d and saying: \u201cThe kids looked really happy. The boys looked really sweet and nothing seemed out of order.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Crown Prosecution Service\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cps.gov.uk\/legal-guidance\/child-abuse-non-sexual-prosecution-guidance\">definition<\/a> of child abuse includes neglect, where \u201csomeone may abuse or neglect a child or young person by inflicting harm, or by failing to prevent harm\u201d.
