Kristi Noem (R) on Friday reacted to President Joe Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/12\/16\/omicron-is-here-joe-biden-warns-winter-of-severe-illness-and-death-for-unvaccinated-americans\/\">warning<\/a> to the unvaccinated that \u201cwe are looking at a winter of severe illness and death\u201d heading into the Christmas holiday.<\/p>\n<p>Noem said that with the spread of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus, her state plans \u201con doing business as usual and celebrating Christmas.\u201d She added that Biden\u2019s \u201coutlook is focusing on the negatives,\u201d and the United States \u201cneeds hope\u201d during the holiday season.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe plan on doing business as usual and celebrating Christmas,\u201d Noem told FNC\u2019s \u201cFox &amp; Friends.\u201d \u201cI think the president\u2019s outlook is focusing on the negatives. This country needs hope. They need to remember the promise of Christmas and the love they have for their families and friends and enjoy the season.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re always concerned,\u201d she continued. \u201cWe\u2019re doing the hard work of taking care of people, letting them use personal responsibility to make the best decisions for themselves and their families, and then focusing on how we can get through challenging times together. South Dakota has been an example to the country of how you do that with common sense and protecting freedoms, and I would encourage the president to consider taking some of the actions that we have.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat common sense things is South Dakota doing that the president should do?\u201d host Steve Doocy asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continue to do what we\u2019ve done throughout the pandemic, and that\u2019s to inform people, give them data, focus on the science, encourage them to consistently wash their hands like we did throughout the pandemic to make sure that if they\u2019re not feeling well, they should stay home, protect the vulnerable individuals, and choose to get a vaccine if they would like to.
