On Monday, the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association agreed to increase daily testing, while masks will be required to be worn on team benches. The recent outbreak has already caused two games to be postponed, with multiple teams having to play with significantly shorter benches.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With a reported 97% of the league vaccinated against COVID-19, the league is recommending \u2014 but not mandating \u2014 booster shots for the players.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was asked if he was worried about contracting COVID-19, to which Green said he has done all he could to prevent testing positive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve done all I can do to protect against it. I\u2019m not worried,\u201d Green said. \u201cThey said get vaccinated, right? I did that, and I got a booster shot. So, if I\u2019m supposed to worry, then why did they ask me to get those? So, no. I\u2019m not worried. If the vaccines are what they say they are, then I\u2019m not worried. I\u2019ve done all I can do.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Green was asked if he has taken any extra precautions as cases have risen, saying that he takes the necessary precautions, including wearing a mask.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wear my mask, but I\u2019m not just going to sit in the hotel room either,\u201d Green continued. \u201cI was told if you got vaccinated, then you could live your life. So, I\u2019m not an idiot. I\u2019m not going to be reckless \u2026 Again, I\u2019ve done everything I can do. I didn\u2019t get vaccinated and a booster shot to not be able to live my life. I\u2019ve taken all the necessary precautions that was asked of me. One of those players was Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins, who told reporters at Warriors\u2019 Media Days that his vaccination status was \u201cnone of your business.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Though Wiggins did eventually decide to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, Green defended Wiggins\u2019 decision at the time, saying that his leadership role did not extend to telling his teammates what to put in their bodies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat would be like me telling him, \u2018Yo, your wife is going into labor. How dare you leave this team and not go tend to your wife?\u2019\u201d Green <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/nba-you-say-we-live-in-the-land-of-the-free-draymond-green-questions-covid-vaccine-pressure\">said<\/a>. \u201cThat\u2019s something that\u2019s personal to him. That\u2019s something that\u2019s health-related. That\u2019s something that\u2019s personal to his family. This is no different. We\u2019re dealing with something that to me feels like has turned into a political war when you\u2019re talking about vaccinated [people] and non-vaccinated [people]. I think it\u2019s become very political.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Green went on to discuss societal pressure to receive the jab, questioning why the vaccine had become a political issue.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor someone who\u2019s not extremely into politics, when you make something so political \u2014 not everyone is into politics \u2014 then you can also turn those people off,\u201d Green continued. \u201cThere is something to be said for people concerns about something that\u2019s being pressed so hard. Like \u2018why are you pressing this so hard?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou say we live in the land of the free. Well, you\u2019re not giving anyone freedom because you\u2019re making people do something essentially,\u201d Green later said. \u201cWithout necessarily making them, you\u2019re making them do something.
