John Kennedy grilled one of President Joe Biden\u2019s judicial nominees with the same question nine times in a row over the course of five minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Anne Traum was nominated by Biden to be the United States District Judge for the District of Nevada. During Thursday\u2019s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/14\/john-kennedy-biden-nominee-jennifer-sung-kavanaugh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kennedy<\/a> questioned Traum\u2019s beliefs on criminal justice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you think we should forgive criminal misbehavior in the name of social justice?\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/07\/breaking-president-biden-to-withdraw-saule-omarovas-nomination\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kennedy<\/a> asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenator, thank you for that question. I recognize &nbsp;that all issues of crime and all responses to crime are fundamentally policy issues. So, those are important issues, they are important for our community and our nation, but I leave those policy issues to the policymakers if confirmed as a judge I would not be a policy maker,\u201d Traum said, before <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/19\/senator-john-kennedy-build-back-better-bill-authors-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kennedy<\/a> cut her off.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not asking your opinion as a judge. I\u2019m asking your opinion as a person, as a law professor. I\u2019ll stipulate, with all of you, that you\u2019re all going to be fair and unbiased. Now, do you think misbehavior and illegal acts should be forgiven in the name of social justice?\u201d Kennedy pressed.<\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Viral Moment: John Kennedy Asks Judicial Nominee Same Question Nine Times\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CRXbxEMkbfs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenator, I do believe that all criminal policy is fundamentally a policy issue \u2013\u201d Traum began before Kennedy again interjected to ask whether, as an individual, she believes that an illegal act should be forgiven in the name of social justice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenator, that is not a view that I have taken in my work,\u201d Traum said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s no?\u201d Kennedy said. \u201cIs your answer \u2018no?&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Traum again reiterated she has not \u201ctaken that view\u201d in her official capacity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m asking, professor, what you believe. I think this is really straightforward. Do you believe that an illegal act should be forgiven in the name of social justice. It\u2019s pretty simple.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenator, I believe that we have criminal laws, criminal laws that are created by policy making bodies like this one-\u201d Traum said before Kennedy again interjected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI got all that. Do you believe that a criminal act should be forgiven in the name of social justice?\u201d Kennedy, seemingly agitated, said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have not only criminal laws but we have a criminal process by which people come before the court to be held accountable if they are charged with a crime. And I have enormous respect for that process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI do too,\u201d Kennedy said. \u201cDo you believe that a criminal act should be forgiven in the name of social justice?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Traum said each individual that appears before the court has a unique case and she \u201crespects that process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy again asked whether a criminal act should be forgiven in the name of social justice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think I could say, with respect to any particular case or as a generality with respect to any category of cases\u2013\u201d Traum said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you not have an opinion?\u201d Kennedy questioned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t have a view to share on how any particular kind of case should be handled,\u201d Traum said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf confirmed you\u2019re going to be a federal judge. And I join my friend, Sen. Durbin, in saying judicial intemperment is important. But I think being unbiased is even more important,\u201d Kennedy said. \u201cAnd I find it incredible that you won\u2019t answer my question.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I\u2019m going to ask it again, maybe it\u2019s me,\u201d Kennedy said. \u201cDo you believe that we should forgive a criminal act in the name of social justice?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenator, I share the view that we should be unbiased but I also share the view that our criminal justice system and our process is very individualized so what should happen in any particular case is a matter of the process and the very specific facts and that \u2013\u201d Traum responded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you believe that a criminal act should be forgiven in the name of social justice,\u201d Kennedy once again pressed. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/15\/biden-nominee-electoral-college-us-senate-anti-democratic-dale-ho\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Biden Nominee Dale Ho Called Electoral College, US Senate \u2018Anti-Democratic\u2019)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Traum began explaining the outcome of a case is individualized before Kennedy cut her off and asked what her favorite color is.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBlue\u201d Traum said, with Kennedy joking he\u2019s received at least one clear answer from Traum.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t vote for you, not if you\u2019re not going to answer the questions,\u201d Kennedy said. \u201cI mean that was embarrassing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Traum, a law professor at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, was <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/30\/progressive-groups-celebrate-joe-biden-trailblazing-judicial-nominees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">nominated<\/a> by Biden in November to fill one of two vacancies that the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts considered an emergency fill, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/news\/politics-and-government\/nevada\/biden-selects-2-to-fill-emergency-vacancies-on-federal-courts-in-nevada-2471111\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Las Vegas Review-Journal<\/a>. Traum was selected by a judicial commission in Nevada made up of Democratic Sens.
