He has gained some renown after a passionate interview to Fox 32 in the aftermath of the theft.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI said two words. \u2018Enough is enough\u2019 is how I started the interview. I\u2019ve been bombarded by people all over the country. My emails are blowing up \u2026 people that know people that I know are getting out, they feel sorry for me,\u201d he told AM 560\u2019s The Morning Answer.<\/p>\n<p>More than for himself, Perillo said he feels bad for his residential neighbors who do not feel safe or protected on the city\u2019s streets. He said it is time to start a campaign.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThey want to take their kids out for a walk and are afraid,\u201d Perillo said. \u201cPeople want to go to dinner and they don\u2019t know if they\u2019re going to get stuck up. This is the city of Chicago, a city that works OK and I\u2019m just fed up with it and everyone is texting \u2018enough is enough.\u2019 So I\u2019d like to start a movement. An \u2018Enough is enough\u2019 movement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Man smashes glass case at Gold Coast Auto Gallery, takes off with a million dollars worth of watches\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JLFhHWv29i8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The local newspaper said Perrillo is the son of Italian immigrants, and his father died when he was 13.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were plenty of thieves in my neighborhood, and thugs, and my idols at the time were the thieves and the thugs,\u201d Perrillo said. \u201cSo I could relate to these kids. I\u2019ve lived it. I saw it. I would have been a thug. I went to the Army when I was 17 and it changed my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Perrillo has a grim view of what will happen unless action is taken against criminal behavior.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen they get rid of that merchandise they stole, they\u2019re going to have to go out and steal more merchandise, and they\u2019re going to bring a couple of friends with them and they\u2019re going to steal,\u201d Perrillo said. \u201cThey are already closing Macy\u2019s and Neiman Marcus and how many other stores are going to get closed?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese kids go back to their neighborhoods and they become role models \u2014 they\u2019re probably 17 or 18 years old,\u201d Perrillo said. \u201cInstead of going out and getting a job to get a car, to get it done, they go out, steal a car, and then they go back with that car to their neighborhood and all their friends look up to them.
