In a letter to Disney, 13 Republicans led by congressman Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.) criticized Disney for pulling \u201cThe Simpson\u2019s\u201d episode called \u201cThe Simpson\u2019s go to China.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The South Carolina lawmaker said such censorship on behalf of the Communist Party is \u201cdisgusting and worthy of condemnation.\u201d The episode in question mentions Tiananmen Square protests and features Homer Simpson saying Mao Zedong killed 50 million people.<\/p>\n<p>Duncan said U.S. companies doing business with China are facing political pressure.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cI have notable concerns about American companies doing business in China and accommodations they make with the People\u2019s Republic of China,\u201d he explained. \u201cIt is astonishing to me that there is any level of doubt over the level of access of the Chinese Communist Party as over this conglomerate and similar entities.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Disney+ launched in Hong Kong and the episode of the Simpsons where the family visit Tiananmen Square in China is missing, in what appears to be another attempt to censor media by Hong Kong authorities.<\/p>\n<p>Censorship and the crackdown on freedom of expression in Hong Kong must end. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Ilcl0AQ0iN\">pic.twitter.com\/Ilcl0AQ0iN<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Amnesty International USA (@amnestyusa) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/amnestyusa\/status\/1470770806003228681?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 14, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Duncan stressed Disney bending to the Chinese Communist Party is a betrayal of the company\u2019s founding principles for the sake of profiting from the Chinese market.<\/p>\n<h4>MORE NEWS:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/n-y-county-executives-question-gov-hochuls-mask-mandate\/\">N.Y.
