New York Post reporter Steve Nelson asked Biden if he had a statement on his responsibility for any of those deaths, and why he hasn\u2019t pressed China to be more transparent on the origin of the virus.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than answer, Biden smiled and walked away silently.<\/p>\n<p>During the Trump administration, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deccanherald.com\/international\/biden-hits-out-at-trump-says-anyone-responsible-for-so-many-covid-19-deaths-should-not-be-president-905841.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Biden regularly blamed<\/a> former President Donald Trump for the hundreds of thousands of COVID-19 deaths that accumulated under his watch. But the death toll from the virus in 2021 has surpassed that of 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The administration has been largely silent in recent months on the question of COVID-19 origins, after <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/26\/joe-biden-intelligence-agencies-covid-19-origin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">commissioning a probe<\/a> from the intelligence community on China\u2019s potential role in covering up the beginning of the pandemic.
