She also visited with a 10-year-old girl who was suffering broken bones and a broken pelvis as well as a brain injury.<\/p>\n<p>During her remarks, the first lady spoke of young parents feeling \u201cabsolute terror\u201d when their children were born, \u201cbecause you know that this little fragile life is depending on you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe do absolutely everything we can to protect our kids,\u201d she continued shifting to a discussion about the importance of parents getting their children the coronavirus vaccine shots.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The first lady said she was \u201cexcited\u201d to inform parents that families could now vaccinate their children over five, and she encouraged them to add a scheduled vaccination appointment to their list for the holidays.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo make it a family event and get your booster as well. I promise. It\u2019s easy to do,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Surgeon General Vivek Murthy appeared with Biden and addressed the horrific attack.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know that so many in this room continue to feel the pain and the trauma that resulted from this act of violence. I know that you feel it as survivors and witnesses to this terrible act,\u201d he said before also shifting to a conversation about vaccines.<\/p>\n<p>After her visit to the hospital the First Lady traveled to a makeshift memorial and lay flowers in memory of the victims of the attack.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"7.3219373219373\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FLOTUS?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@FLOTUS<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SecondGentleman?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@SecondGentleman<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Surgeon_General?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Surgeon_General<\/a> lay flowers at the memorial for the victims of last month\u2019s Waukesha Christmas Parade tragedy.
