Mitt Romney (R-UT) and Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) to urge the reauthorization of the&nbsp;Violence Against Women Act, the legislation that was originally spearheaded by then-Sen. Joe Biden nearly three decades ago.<\/p>\n<p>The Hollywood star was on hand Tuesday to stoke bi-partisan support for the latest reauthorization of the act, which expired in September, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/in-the-know\/in-the-know\/585903-angelina-jolie-returns-to-congress-to-advocate-for-violence?rl=1\">report<\/a> from <em>The Hill<\/em>. While the bill has traditionally enjoyed support across the political spectrum, the new version features&nbsp;poison-pill measures designed to get Republicans to oppose it, which will then be used against them during elections.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The reauthorization features language that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/10\/05\/violence-against-women-act-non-romantic-relationships-red-flag-gun-confiscation\/\">broadens red-flag gun provisions<\/a> to those involved in non-romantic relationships.&nbsp;It also includes language mandating biological males who identify as transgender and gender-fluid to be accepted into women shelters.<\/p>\n<p>The House passed the reauthorization in March, with the Senate expected to take up the legislation shortly.<\/p>\n<p>Jolie, who recently starred in Disney-Marvel\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2021\/11\/05\/eternals-review-woke-is-the-least-of-this-marvel-movies-problems\/\">woke superhero movie<\/a> <em>The Eternals<\/em>, last visited Washington to push the reauthorization in September.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>On Tuesday, Rep.
