Those positions would comprise 11 leaders and 30 vacancies added to the 60 positions already based in D.C. and the 36 positions in the&nbsp;Colorado office.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Interior Department spokesperson Melissa Schwartz&nbsp;confirmed the email\u2019s accuracy to the&nbsp;<em>Hill,<\/em> saying there will be roughly&nbsp;100 positions based in D.C., including \u201c60 existing positions and the aforementioned 41 jobs,\u201d along with the&nbsp;36 Colorado positions.<\/p>\n<p>The email added that the&nbsp;assistant director and deputy assistant director for the&nbsp;national conservation lands and community partnerships would \u201canchor\u201d the Colorado office.<\/p>\n<p>Stone-Manning reportedly wrote that she can \u201canticipate\u201d the office publishing&nbsp;positions that&nbsp;\u201creflect that office\u2019s leadership role in BLM\u2019s outdoor recreation, conservation, clean energy, and scientific missions, as well as outreach and Tribal consultation.\u201d However, the&nbsp;<em>Hill<\/em> noted that&nbsp;Stone-Manning left questions about some of the positions\u2019 placements unanswered in her email.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have not made decisions on the best locations for some of the additional vacant H.Q. positions and are also evaluating other positions that were moved and scattered across the West in 2019 and the best way to fulfill the role of the Western Headquarters,\u201d Stone-Manning wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will rely on the Employee Advisory Group we are creating to help inform those decisions, as well as to help represent employees\u2019 perspectives as we implement decisions, including considerations related to remote work and telework,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Before&nbsp;Stone-Manning was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/09\/30\/senate-confirms-joe-biden-ecoterrorist-nominee-lead-bureau-land-management\/\">confirmed<\/a> as Biden\u2019s BLM director, she had a contentious confirmation process in the U.S. Senate, whereby the&nbsp;Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee was deadlocked, voting&nbsp;10\u201310 along party lines, making the full Senate vote to&nbsp;carry out her nomination from the committee to be voted on and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/09\/30\/senate-confirms-joe-biden-ecoterrorist-nominee-lead-bureau-land-management\/\">considered<\/a> to be the&nbsp;director of&nbsp;BLM.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_19136946\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"43\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/manchin-barrasso-hearing-blm-stone-manning-2021-ap.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-19136946\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/manchin-barrasso-hearing-blm-stone-manning-2021-ap.jpg\" alt=\"FILE - In this June 23, 2021, file photo, Sen. Scott Applewhite, File)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>During her&nbsp;confirmation process, Stone-Manning\u2019s&nbsp;past links to&nbsp;ecoterrorist groups and her involvement in a 1989 criminal tree spiking case when she was a graduate student at the University of Montana in Missoula became a source of controversy.&nbsp;Breitbart News&nbsp;<a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/environment\/2021\/07\/03\/key-democrat-senators-silent-on-bidens-ecoterrorism-linked-blm-nominee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>&nbsp;Stone-Manning\u2019s role in the case:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"30.689806128831\">\n<p><span class>In 1989, Stone-Manning<\/span><span class>&nbsp;<\/span><a class href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/06\/29\/william-perry-pendley-biden-nominees-complicity-in-eco-terrorism-case-disqualifies-her-from-leading-the-bureau-of-land-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mailed<\/a><span class>&nbsp;<\/span><span class>a letter to the U.S. Forest Service on behalf of John P. Blount, an individual in her \u201ccircle of friends,\u201d crudely warning federal authorities that trees in Idaho\u2019s Clearwater National Forest that were scheduled to be cut down had been sabotaged with metal spikes to prevent them from being harvested. Tree&nbsp;spiking, as this form of sabotage is called, is both a crime and, according to the FBI\u2019s definition, an act of ecoterrorism that can be fatal to loggers or millworkers processing the spiked trees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>After the Forest Service received the warning letter,&nbsp;Stone-Manning and six other&nbsp;individuals&nbsp;in Missoula were the target of a 1989 grand jury investigation for which they&nbsp;were subpoenaed and required to submit&nbsp;finger prints and hair samples. However, the 1989 grand jury did not uncover&nbsp;enough evidence to charge Blount or anyone else with the&nbsp;crime. The case was not solved until Blount\u2019s ex-girlfriend reported&nbsp;him to authorities two years later, and in doing so, also named Stone-Manning as the person who mailed the letter for him. In exchange for immunity, Stone-Manning testified in the 1993 trial against Blount, who was convicted for the tree spiking crime and sentenced to 17 months in prison.<\/p>\n<p>Former BLM Acting Director William Perry Pendley&nbsp;<a title=\"This external link will open in a new window\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/06\/29\/william-perry-pendley-biden-nominees-complicity-in-eco-terrorism-case-disqualifies-her-from-leading-the-bureau-of-land-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">references<\/a>&nbsp;interviews in which Stone-Manning admits she did not come forward about her knowledge of Blount\u2019s 1989 tree spiking until her 1993 testimony. Stone-Manning later filled out a questionnaire for her Senate confirmation hearing with inaccuracies related to the tree spiking case.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"c-message_kit__gutter\">\n<div class=\"c-message_kit__gutter__right\">\n<div class=\"c-message_kit__blocks c-message_kit__blocks--rich_text\">\n<div class=\"c-message__message_blocks c-message__message_blocks--rich_text\">\n<div class=\"p-block_kit_renderer\">\n<div class=\"p-block_kit_renderer__block_wrapper p-block_kit_renderer__block_wrapper--first\">\n<div class=\"p-rich_text_block\" dir=\"auto\" readability=\"32.211940298507\">\n<div class=\"p-rich_text_section\" readability=\"35.140298507463\">Breitbart News also&nbsp;<a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/environment\/2021\/07\/09\/cover-up-bidens-ecoterrorist-linked-nominee-locked-access-to-her-masters-thesis-advocating-anti-child-population-control-propaganda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>&nbsp;that&nbsp;Stone-Manning\u2019s master\u2019s thesis on \u201cenvironmental advertising\u201d advocated for the&nbsp;creation of population control propaganda. After nearly 30 years from when the thesis was published, the university claimed Stone-Manning requested the library to restrict access to \u201ccampus members only\u201d:<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote readability=\"19\">\n<p>The thesis on \u201cenvironmental advertising\u201d highlighted population control propaganda Stone-Manning created as a means to alleviate perceived stresses to the environment caused by humans. Stone-Manning wrote that her movement \u201cdesperately needs to use advertising\u2019s ubiquitous power if it is to capture mainstream America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Breitbart News reached out to the University of Montana to obtain a copy of Stone-Manning\u2019s thesis and discover why this document, in which the Biden nominee called a human child an \u201cenvironmental hazard,\u201d was restricted.<\/p>\n<p>The university librarian sent an email back stating, \u201cI am not able to provide you with a copy of this thesis because in June 2020 the author requested that we restrict access to current University of Montana campus members only.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite&nbsp;Stone-Manning\u2019s views, she was confirmed to lead the agency, which manages an&nbsp;estimated 245 million acres of public lands and 700 million acres of mineral lands.<\/p>\n<p><i>Jacob Bliss is a reporter for Breitbart News.
