This expansion of payments \u201cwould result in nearly 2 million people losing the health insurance they receive from their job, forcing them on to get worse care that costs more,\u201d according to the memo. It also warned that the bill uses \u201cbudgetary gimmicks to hide its true cost to taxpayers, and in doing so creates a coverage cliff in 2025 when expanded Obamacare subsidies would expire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The bill also undermines Medicare Advantage and would \u201cunnecessarily spend nearly $40 billion to expand traditional Medicare to cover hearing benefits even though 93% of Medicare Advantage (MA) plans already cover them\u201d:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"9\">\n<p>The Medicare expansion comes at a time when the underlying Medicare program is approaching a fiscal crisis. Medicare\u2019s trust fund is facing insolvency in 2026. Medicare has never been this close to insolvency without a serious bipartisan focus on reigning in costs. If Democrats were serious about healthcare, they would be using reconciliation to ensure Medicare\u2019s long-term viability for future beneficiaries.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe left cares so much about advancing its depraved ideology it\u2019s willing to risk American lives to do it,\u201d Rep. Jim Banks\u2019 (R-IN) memo continued, knocking the left for advancing \u201cso-called drug price \u2018negotiation,\u2019\u201d which the memo brands a \u201ceuphemism for fewer cures, fewer choices, and a sicker American public.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<div id=\"attachment_17682938\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" readability=\"39\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/GettyImages-1336118365.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17682938\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/GettyImages-1336118365.jpg\" alt=\"WASHINGTON, DC - AUGUST 24: Rep. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Per the memo:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>&nbsp;The bill would establish government mandated price-controls on selected prescription drugs by setting a ceiling of 40-75% of the average list price and, importantly, no floor on what rate the government can set.<\/li>\n<li>They like to call it \u201cnegotiation,\u201d but it\u2019s anything but. If manufacturers don\u2019t accept the mandated price, they\u2019re hit with up to a 95% excise tax.<\/li>\n<li>Time and time and time again, price controls have been shown to kill innovation, and these policies will prevent up to 100 new cures from being brought to the American people. Those are real lives that won\u2019t be saved.<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;Not only will these policies kill new cures, they will kill competition. By setting arbitrarily low rates on new drugs, generic competition for brand named drugs will be disincentivized.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ultimately, the memo warns that the far-left\u2019s agenda is nothing more than \u201canother step in the left\u2019s long march to socialism.\u201d Democrats, it continues, are prioritizing their \u201cradical ideology ahead of finding common-sense solutions\u201d which could ultimately cost lives.<\/p>\n<p>The House <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/19\/house-passes-behemoth-build-back-better-act\/\">passed<\/a> the massive measure in November, 220-213.
