White House press secretary Jen Psaki&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/zackfriedman\/2021\/12\/13\/biden-administration-wont-extend-student-loan-relief-confirms-student-loan-payments-restart-february-1\/?sh=439accff290c\">told<\/a> <em>Forbes:<\/em><\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote readability=\"7\">\n<p>We will engage directly with federal student loan borrowers to ensure they have the resources they need and are in the appropriate repayment plan. The Department of Education is already communicating with borrowers to help them to help to&nbsp;prepare for return to repayment on February 1.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The suspension of payments benefitted about 41 million borrowers, the White House added. But the far-left Democrats have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/zackfriedman\/2021\/12\/13\/biden-administration-wont-extend-student-loan-relief-confirms-student-loan-payments-restart-february-1\/?sh=439accff290c\">called<\/a> on Biden to continue the extension to protect the \u201cfinancial devastation of millions of borrowers.\u201d Those members include&nbsp;Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>During Biden\u2019s presidency, the administration has forgiven $12.5 billion of student loan debt for nearly 640,000 students. And as of January 31, 2022, \u201cstudent loan borrowers will have received $110 billion of student loan cancellation from 22 months of temporary student loan forbearance,\u201d <em>Forbes<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n<p>But the forgiveness and delay of billions in debt are not good enough for many on the left.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI worked full time, Monday through Friday, and took weekend classes to get my law degree,\u201d Rep.&nbsp;Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) stated on the House floor. \u201cAnd still, close to $200,000 in debt.
