It will apply to everyone, regardless of vaccination status.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cMore restrictions will be introduced for those who are unvaccinated, with added requirements for those individuals to attend large gatherings such as concerts and sporting events,\u201d the outlet added.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The San Francisco Chronicle <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfchronicle.com\/bayarea\/article\/California-to-reimpose-statewide-indoor-mask-16699120.php\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The state will also require people attending mega-events of 1,000 people or more that don\u2019t require vaccination to show proof of a negative test taken within one day for an antigen test, and within two days for a PCR test. The previous window was 72 hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">And it will recommend that travelers returning to California get tested three to five days after arrival.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Chronicle noted that as of Friday, there have been 18 Omicron variant cases reported in California.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom\u2019s administration announced the new measure on Monday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThis is a critical time,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2021-12-13\/california-orders-statewide-mask-order-starting-wednesday\">said<\/a> Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly. \u201cWe have a tool we know has worked and can work. At this point, if you haven\u2019t been vaccinated, it\u2019s really your own darn fault.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThose who get sick, it\u2019s almost entirely their own darn fault,\u201d Polis added. \u201cI don\u2019t want to say that nobody [will get the virus if they\u2019re] vaccinated, but it\u2019s very rare. Just to put it in perspective, of the about 1400 people hospitalized, less than 200 (or 16 percent) are vaccinated. And many of them are older or have other conditions.
