David Perdue (R-GA), who is backed by former President Donald Trump in his gubernatorial bid, holds a sizable lead early in his campaign over Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, a poll from Trump\u2019s pollster Tony Fabrizio provided exclusively to Breitbart News shows.<\/p>\n<p>The headline of the polling memo\u2014\u201cPerdue Primed to Defeat Kemp\u201d\u2014says it all. \u201cWe found that incumbent Governor Brian Kemp has overstayed his welcome with the Republican electorate and a plurality back another candidate, chiefly David Perdue,\u201d the polling memo states. \u201cFurthermore, President Trump\u2019s endorsement of Sen. Perdue serves to further solidify his advantage over Brian Kemp.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>In a hypothetical head-to-head matchup with Kemp, Perdue already leads 47 percent to 44 percent with 9 percent undecided.<\/p>\n<p>When survey respondents are informed that Trump has endorsed Perdue, that lead skyrockets to a 22 percent advantage for Perdue\u2014with Perdue at 56 percent and Kemp at just 34 percent and 10 percent undecided.<\/p>\n<p>A hypothetical full ballot question where respondents are told of Trump\u2019s endorsement of Perdue and where former Democrat state Sen. Vernon Jones\u2014who switched parties and joined the GOP over Trump\u2014as well other candidates Kandiss Taylor and Jonathan Garcia remain in the race, Perdue still leads Kemp by sizable double-digit margins. In that scenario, Perdue is at 46 percent and Kemp is at 32 percent\u2014a 14 point lead for Perdue\u2014while Jones is at 9 percent, Taylor at 2 percent, and Garcia at less than a percent while 11 percent are undecided.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The survey of 800 likely GOP primary voters was conducted by Trump\u2019s pollster Fabrizio, Lee, and Associates for the Perdue for Governor campaign from Dec. 7 to Dec. 9 and has a margin of error of 3.46 percent.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_18447698\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"37\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18447698\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/georgia-gov-brian-kemp-april3-2021-ap.jpg\" alt width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">FILE \u2013 In this April 3, 2021, file photo, Georgia Gov. (AP Photo\/Brynn Anderson, File)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>What\u2019s more, the survey also asked respondents about their thoughts on the 2020 election in Georgia, and only 7 percent said they believed this statement: \u201cJoe Biden won the election, which was fair with no fraud or irregularities.\u201d Twenty-eight percent believed this statement: \u201cWhile there is evidence of some fraud and irregularities, Joe Biden still won the election.\u201d The vast majority, 63 percent, said they agreed with this statement: \u201cThe election was stolen from Donald Trump through widespread election fraud.\u201d Only 1 percent said they didn\u2019t know or refused to answer.<\/p>\n<p>Perdue jumped in the race early last week, and almost immediately Trump endorsed him. Trump has feuded with Kemp since the election last year, arguing that the Georgia governor he backed in 2018\u2019s election battle both in the primary and general was insufficiently loyal to him as the now former president challenged election results throughout Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>Perdue, in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/12\/12\/exclusive-perdue-stacey-abrams-wants-give-illegal-aliens-right-vote-democrats-would-control-georgia-forever\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an appearance<\/a> on <em>Breitbart News Saturday<\/em> on SiriusXM 125 the Patriot Channel this weekend, bashed Kemp as someone who \u201cgave away the election process to Stacey Abrams in 2020 and has lost confidence of our party, and I just don\u2019t see any way that he can beat Stacey Abrams.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10347261\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"38\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10347261\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Stacey-Abrams-for-governor-hand-up-supporters-ap.jpg\" alt=\"FILE- In this May 22, 2018, file photo Georgia&#039;s Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams waves in Atlanta. Whoever wins between Kemp and Perdue in the GOP primary will face Abrams in the general election in November.<\/p>\n<p>Kemp, in <a href=\"https:\/\/video.foxnews.com\/v\/6286242926001#sp=show-clips\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an interview<\/a> with Fox News\u2019s Bret Baier, fired back at Perdue saying he \u201clost to a 33-year-old nobody\u201d in now Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) who beat Perdue in the runoff earlier this year officially handing the U.S. Senate majority to the Democrats. \u201cWhile David Perdue was at home playing golf for the last nine months, we passed the election integrity act,\u201d Kemp added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ATLANTA, Georgia \u2014 Former Sen.
