As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/13th-u-s-service-member-dies-in-afghanistan-now-deadliest-day-of-conflict-since-2011\">The Daily Wire<\/a> noted, at least a dozen more American service members were seriously injured, including 10 U.S. Marines and one U.S. Navy hospital corpsman. Several service members are believed to be in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe U.S. fatalities were the first in Afghanistan since February 2020, when former President Donald Trump and the Taliban signed an agreement to withdraw U.S. troops from the country,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/theweek.com\/news\/1004214\/kabul-airport-attack-marks-deadliest-day-for-us-military-in-afghanistan-since-2011\">The Week reported<\/a>. \u201cThe 13 troops killed Thursday made the attack the deadliest since August 2011, when militants shot down a Chinook helicopter, killing 31 Americans, seven Afghans and a military dog,\u201d according <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/afghanistan-kabul-airport-explosion-11629976397\">to The Wall Street Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The bombing occurred at a final checkpoint for evacuees before entering Hamid Karzai International Airport, where U.S. service members were screening potential individuals for some of the last rescue flights out of Afghanistan before the U.S. military officially withdrew on August 31st.<\/p>\n<p>Other explosions were heard throughout the day, but officials said those were coalition forces destroying military equipment as part of the evacuation process.<\/p>\n<p>The terror group known as \u201cISIS-K\u201d claimed responsibility for the terror attack that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/world\/afghan-death-toll-95-kabul-airport-bombing\">killed<\/a> at least 13 U.S. service members and at least 95 Afghans.<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-brags-hed-be-willing-to-lose-presidency-over-disastrous-afghanistan-withdrawal\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported, Biden boasted that he would be willing to lose his presidency over his Afghanistan strategy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut look: one of the things we did decide, and I mean this, my word as a Biden, I know what I\u2019m willing to lose over,\u201d Biden told Braver. \u201cIf we walk away from the middle class, if we walk away from trying to unify people, if we start to engage in the same kind of politics that the last four years has done? I\u2019m willing to lose over that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou mean, you\u2019re willing to lose your presidency?\u201d Braver asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy presidency, that\u2019s right,\u201d Biden responded. \u201cBecause I\u2019m gonna stick with it.
