The summit has proven not insignificantly problematic for the Biden administration after the president of South Africa <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/national-security\/2021\/12\/10\/diplomacy-is-back-south-africa-boycotts-bidens-democracy-summit\/\">boycotted<\/a> it \u2013 a response to Biden imposing a travel ban on southern African countries \u2013 and White House officials allegedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/12\/13\/reuters-biden-censored-taiwan-map-at-digital-authoritarianism-panel-on-purpose\/\">cut<\/a> the Taiwanese livestream after a map appeared showing Taiwan in a different color than China.<\/p>\n<p>The emphasis on \u201cGen Z\u201d and its purported loyalty to communism, which the&nbsp;<em>Global Times<\/em> insistently refers to as Chinese-style \u201cdemocracy,\u201d follows years of failed attempts to galvanize the generation before it, known as \u201cMillennials,\u201d into supporting the regime.<\/p>\n<p>The Pew Research Center <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/fact-tank\/2019\/01\/17\/where-millennials-end-and-generation-z-begins\/\">defines<\/a> Gen Z as people born between 1997 and 2012. It classifies Millennials as people born between 1981 and 1996. Millennials are currently largely in their 30s, an age typically associated with buying homes and starting families. In China, however, the communist regime makes establishing families and maintaining wealth extremely difficult, and for years the government outlawed people from having more than one child. Beijing has since expanded that limit to a \u201cthree-child\u201d policy, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/12\/11\/china-marriage-license-applications-drop-13-year-low\/\">marriage<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/11\/22\/china-announces-major-investment-ivf-reverse-birth-collapse\/\">birth rates<\/a> continue to plummet.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Millennials have taken to opposing communism by refusing to participate in society. Among staple Chinese Millennial cultural trends are \u201c<em>sang<\/em> culture,\u201d the embrace of defeatist and pessimistic mindsets, and \u201clying flat,\u201d a philosophy in which Millennials do not aspire to career, personal, or financial achievements in any way.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_19112818\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" readability=\"32\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/GettyImages-181286568.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-19112818\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/GettyImages-181286568.jpg\" alt=\"Sad woman waiting someone who is late, beside the window, in restaurant of Hong Kong (Photo: LewisTsePuiLung \/ iStock \/ Getty Images Plus)\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Photo: LewisTsePuiLung \/ iStock \/ Getty Images Plus)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>Global Times<\/em>&nbsp;claims its survey found that, when asked by the repressive Chinese regime, most \u201cGen Z\u201d members rate China\u2019s political system as superior to America\u2019s:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"13\">\n<p>When scoring, from 1 to 10, China and the US in comparing \u201cwhich country\u2019s political system is better,\u201d the interviewees, on average, gave China a score of 7.5 while the US received a 5. The survey found that 97.2 percent of young Chinese believe that the US\u2019 \u201csummit for democracy\u201d is unable to save \u201cUS or Western democracy\u201d from the current crisis.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe survey finds that most participants, who used to believe in Western democracy (including a multi-party system, \u2018one person one vote\u2019 and a tripartite structure) is \u2018the only correct answer of democracy for the world,\u2019 have no longer held this view,\u201d the propaganda newspaper asserted.&nbsp;The&nbsp;<em>Global Times<\/em> also anonymously quoted individuals who allegedly participated in the survey enthusiastically supporting&nbsp;<em>Global Times<\/em> talking points.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf \u2018democracy\u2019 equals the Western political system, then I disagree that it should be the value shared by humanity,\u201d one alleged survey respondent, \u201cLiu,\u201d told the newspaper. \u201cIn Chinese, the word democracy, Min Zhu, consists of two characters \u2013 the people and ruling or master. So, if you ask me is the people should be the masters of their country\u2019 [sic] a shared value of humanity, then I would say \u2018yes.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>More egregiously, the&nbsp;<em>Global Times<\/em> quoted an alleged&nbsp;\u201cGen Z\u201d member from East Turkistan, an occupied region China refers to as Xinjiang, attacking the United States. China is currently engaging in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/12\/09\/tribunal-olympics-host-china-beyond-a-reasonable-doubt-guilty-of-genocide\/\">genocide<\/a> of the Uyghur people of East Turkistan fueled by the use of concentration camps and mass sterilization, which two American administrations have confirmed is ongoing. The&nbsp;<em>Global Times<\/em> did not state if the respondent from East Turkistan was Han, the ethnic majority in eastern China, or Uyghur.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think the US has any right to say anything about \u2018democracy\u2019 or \u2018human rights\u2019 given its previous slaughter of Native Americans and the current blatant smearing of Xinjiang,\u201d the \u201cyoung man\u201d is quoted as saying.<\/p>\n<p>The propaganda newspaper listed the death of Minnesota man George Floyd, the Chinese coronavirus pandemic, and the January 6 Capitol incident as reasons Chinese \u201cGen Z\u201d members have no faith in American democracy.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Chinese government propaganda outlets spent much of the past year similarly asserting that China\u2019s \u201cGen Z\u201d would carry the torch of authoritarianism into the future. In July, for example, the <em>People\u2019s Daily<\/em> ran a feature about young Chinese <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/07\/09\/china-gives-up-on-anti-communist-millennials-turns-to-gen-z\/\">fueling<\/a> a trend known as \u201cred tourism,\u201d in which the regime promotes visits to historic sites to worship communism. The&nbsp;<em>People\u2019s Daily<\/em> is the official newspaper of the Communist Party of China.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[M]embers of Generation Z have become the biggest fans of red tourism, accounting for nearly 60 percent of its total consumers,\u201d the outlet claimed. \u201cWith the rising sense of patriotism among young people, the number of tourists born after 2000 participating in red tourism has increased significantly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn fact, statistics showed that ticket numbers bought by this group for red tourist attractions through Ctrip in the first half of this year rose by about 2.5 times over the same period in 2019,\u201d the&nbsp;<em>People\u2019s Daily<\/em> asserted.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>In contrast, the Communist Party has spent much of the past five years worrying that Millennials are not sufficiently \u201cpatriotic.\u201d Agence France-Presse (AFP) profiled what it nicknamed \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/news\/keep-calm-and-be-average-chinas-unambitious-millennials\/\">Buddhist Youth<\/a>\u201d in 2017: Millennials with no ambition to enrich communist China.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t really relate when my friends tell me about their goals and ambitions. As for me, I don\u2019t have any dreams,\u201d one Chinese Millennial interviewed in the piece,&nbsp;Wang Zhaoyue, said.<\/p>\n<p>AFP called the \u201cBuddhist youth\u201d a \u201cpositive\u201d alternative to defeatist \u201c<em>sang<\/em> culture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A year later, the&nbsp;<em>Global Times<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaltimes.cn\/content\/1083001.shtml\">said<\/a> of Millennials, \u201cthey are not inspired by any patriotic drive or the Party\u2019s political catchphrases. They are simply indifferent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>China began prioritizing the elimination of Millennial&nbsp;<em>sang<\/em> culture after it hijacked what began as a ham-fisted attempt at Chinese cultural domination this year. Chinese media company Tencent debuted a boy band competition show titled&nbsp;<em>CHUANG 2021<\/em> this year designed to create the world\u2019s most popular boy band \u2013 a clear attempt to dethrone the South Korean boy band BTS from that position. Beijing had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/02\/03\/failing-cancel-bts-china-announces-plan-build-rival-boy-band\/\">objected<\/a>&nbsp;last year to a member of BTS thanking U.S. troops for their support of South Korea during the Korean War. (China helped North Korea kill South Koreans during that war, but Chinese \u201cnetizens\u201d demanded gratitude from BTS for their role in the war anyway.)<\/p>\n<p>The most popular contestant on&nbsp;<em>CHUANG 2021<\/em> became Vladislav Ivanov, a reluctant participant who used the pseudonym&nbsp;\u201cLelush\u201d and vocally complained that the only reason he was on the show was because he signed a contract that made it impossible for him to leave. Lelush made it to the finals of the competition as voters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/04\/27\/russian-wage-slave-makes-final-chinese-boy-band-show-meant-rival-bts\/\">celebrated<\/a> his apparent lack of effort, talent, or respect for the competition as the height of&nbsp;<em>sang<\/em> culture.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSisters, vote for him!
