Gavin Newsom (D) called on the state legislation Saturday to send him a bill that will allow private citizens to sue \u201cassault weapon\u201d manufacturers.<\/p>\n<p>Axios <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/california-law-texas-abortion-ban-assault-weapons-af5d449d-4849-45b2-9493-92ac1c2e5f97.html\">reports<\/a>&nbsp;Newsom is pushing for suits with a cap of $10,000 and indicating his belief that numerous such suits may be what finally ends up getting such firearms out of circulation.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Newsom said, \u201cIf the most efficient way to keep these devastating weapons off our streets is to add the threat of private lawsuits, we should do just that.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The bill he wants would also allow citizens to sue \u201cassault weapon\u201d distributors and sellers. Wade.
