Now it\u2019s in the mid-40s; I don\u2019t pay attention anymore,\u201d Biden joked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou came in, you came in hot, you got to medium, and now you\u2019re at a low, but you\u2019ve just got to keep your head down, right, and doing the right thing?\u201d Fallon continued.<\/p>\n<p>Biden blamed his falling approval ratings on misinformation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell look, here\u2019s the deal, I think that its \u2014 we\u2019ve been in [office] less than a year, a lot has happened, and look, people are afraid, people are worried,\u201d Biden said. \u201cAnd people are getting so much inaccurate information to them, I don\u2019t mean about me, but about their situation. So they\u2019re, you know, they\u2019re being told that, you know, that Armageddon\u2019s on the way. The truth is the economy\u2019s grown more than it has [at] any time in close to 60 years, the unemployment rate is down to 4.2%, and it\u2019s going to go lower, in my view.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden then admitted that skyrocketing inflation is affecting many Americans\u2019 daily lives. \u201cWe do have inflation on things that in fact matter to people\u2019s lives. When you show up at a gas station and it\u2019s $3.50 at your pump, although now that I took 50 million barrels out of the [Strategic Petroleum Reserve], the gasoline is down below $3.00 in many places, it\u2019s gonna come down, it\u2019s gonna move. In the meantime, people are worried. \u2026 There\u2019s a lot of anxiety.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy job is to be straightforward, shoot from the shoulder, let people know exactly what the truth is, and lay out how I\u2019m going to try to make life better for them,\u201d Biden continued.<\/p>\n<p>The president did order the release of 5o million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, but the move did not appear to significantly reduce prices, as that amount only accounts for about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/bidens-tapping-of-petroleum-reserves-will-provide-just-over-2-5-days-worth-of-oil\">2.5 days\u2019 worth<\/a> of oil consumption, as The Daily Wire reported.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s comments come amid reports that the administration is allegedly working behind the scenes with news outlets to get <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/white-house-working-with-reporters-to-reshape-coverage-of-economic-woes-under-biden-as-approval-sinks-report\">more favorable coverage<\/a> amid the supply chain and inflation crises. The Daily Wire reported that several White House officials, including members of the National Economic Council, have been discussing issues of job creation, economic growth, and supply chains, arguing that the economy is faring much better than it was last year.<\/p>\n<p>A recent poll found that Biden\u2019s approval rating, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/bidens-approval-rating-lower-than-lowest-rated-governor-dips-to-below-30-in-17-states\">at just 37%<\/a>, is lower than every governor in the United States, and is below 30% in 17 states, and down to just 18% in the state of West Virginia.
