She lost control of the car while moving to avoid it and the car flipped multiple times.<\/p>\n<p>Her friends suffered minor injuries.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI remember waking up and becoming conscious and sitting there like oh I can\u2019t move. What\u2019s going on,\u201d she recalled. \u201cI remember screaming someone get me out of the car because the feeling of not being able to move was just terrifying enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe doctors at Devos said I\u2019d be lucky to move my arms,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>The accident resulted in Katelynn being paralyzed from her neck down. She was eventually transferred to rehab and resolved to beat the odds.<\/p>\n<p>Rehabilitation requires determination, hard work, and large amounts of courage, the hospital\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryfreebed.com\/conditions\/spinal-cord-injury\/\">website<\/a> said.<\/p>\n<p>As time passed, she made huge progress and Katelynn finally regained feeling, then was able to hold up her head and move her limbs.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cNo one thought that would ever be a possibility,\u201d Pediatric Inpatient Occupational Therapist Sydney Krol explained.<\/p>\n<p>Krol spent approximately one hour every day with Katelynn. The young woman had limited sensation and underwent speech therapy to aid with breathing and talking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s so strong-willed. I\u2019ve never seen anything like it on the adult spectrum versus on the pediatric level as a 17-year-old woman,\u201d Krol said.<\/p>\n<p>After 123 days in intensive rehab care, Katelynn left the hospital on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>A photo showed her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/GabriellePhiferTV\/posts\/327412432536616\">walking<\/a> out of the building with a huge smile on her face:<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-post\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/GabriellePhiferTV\/posts\/327412432536616\" data-width=\"640\" readability=\"25.639664804469\">\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/graph.facebook.com\/100058035850186\/posts\/327412432536616\/\" class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\" readability=\"7.6536312849162\">\n<p>COMING UP on WOODTV8 (12\/10):Introducing you to 18-year-old Katelynn Bechaz!
