So that didn\u2019t work out too well. And then, on top of it, he got caught. And you know it\u2019s interesting. He wouldn\u2019t have been caught except that he pressed it all the way. He pressed it too far.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>He went on to describe Smollett\u2019s attempt as a \u201chate crime in reverse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe wanted apologies and everything else,\u201d the former president continued. \u201cAnd then the police came, and they did an amazing job. And they caught him cold, and he deserves it. But this is a hate crime. This is really a hate crime, sort of a hate crime in reverse.
