Kellogg Foundation, is set to replace about 1,400 American union workers who have been on strike since October.<\/p>\n<p>American union workers employed at Kellogg\u2019s have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/10\/07\/kelloggs-faces-left-wing-boycott-in-solidarity-with-cereal-workers-on-strike\/\">been striking<\/a> as of October 5, protesting what they say are grueling working conditions at plants in&nbsp;Battle Creek, Michigan; Omaha, Nebraska; Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and Memphis, Tennessee.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The workers and their union, the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers, and Grain Millers\u2019 International Union (BCTGM), allege that Kellogg\u2019s executives have threatened to move manufacturing to Mexico in an effort to bust up their striking.<\/p>\n<p>In October, a BCTGM union representative <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.md\/zY0ts\">said<\/a> Kellogg\u2019s \u201ccontinues to threaten to send additional jobs to Mexico if workers do not accept outrageous proposals that take away protections that workers have had for decades.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_19072194\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"35\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/GettyImages-1235751430.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-19072194\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/GettyImages-1235751430.jpg\" alt width=\"1920\" height=\"1306\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Kellogg\u2019s Cereal plant workers demonstrate in front of the plant on October 7, 2021 in Battle Creek, Michigan. (Rey Del Rio\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Weeks after beginning their strike, support <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.md\/pm88g\">poured in<\/a> from some Senate Democrats <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sanders.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/Senate-BCTGM-Support-Letter.-Kellogg.pdf\">who wrote<\/a> to Kellogg\u2019s CEO Steve Cahillane that threats to send workers\u2019 jobs to Mexico are \u201cabsolutely outrageous\u201d and \u201cun-American and unacceptable\u201d while negotiating a labor contract.<\/p>\n<p>This week, BCTGM President Anthony Shelton announced that striking union workers voted down signing the latest labor contract offered by Kellogg\u2019s which would have limited the number of workers at plants who can move up from the company\u2019s lower-wage level to its higher, more legacy wage level.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe members have spoken. The strike continues,\u201d Shelton said in a statement. \u201cThe BCTGM is grateful for the outpouring of fraternal support we received from across the labor movement for our striking members at Kellogg\u2019s. Solidarity is critical to this fight.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Now, Kellogg\u2019s executives say they plan to permanently replace striking union workers. Some of those new hires could eventually be foreign visa workers as the company may struggle to find replacements in a tight labor market where 11 million jobs remained open in October.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile certainly not the result we had hoped for, we must take the necessary steps to ensure business continuity,\u201d President of Kellogg North America Chris Hood said in a statement.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Hundreds of House and Senate Democrats, along with two House Republicans, signed on as sponsors and cosponsors to the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act \u2014 suggesting this is as evidence that they stand with American union workers against abusive business practices.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/bobbyscott.house.gov\/media-center\/press-releases\/top-democrats-introduce-bill-to-protect-workers-right-to-organize-and\">legislation<\/a>, reintroduced in February, would boost union membership around the United States and strengthen the power that private-sector unions have in negotiations with employers like Kellogg\u2019s.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_19072522\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"36\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/GettyImages-1198808386.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-19072522\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/GettyImages-1198808386.jpg\" alt=\"Samuel Corum\/Getty Images\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1280\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), who sponsored and cosponsored the PRO Act, none of the lawmakers provided a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDoes the representative oppose Kellogg\u2019s actions against striking union workers? Should Kellogg\u2019s be replacing its union workforce with non-union workers? Boyle (D-PA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The stock market <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/12\/08\/woke-kelloggs-stock-tanks-as-labor-talks-go-soggy\/\">reacted quickly<\/a> to the news that Kellogg\u2019s is readying a plan to replace its striking union workers with shares for the company dropping sharply by 2.4 percent. The drop in shares comes as Kellogg\u2019s has struggled in the last 12 months with shares dropping 1.3 percent from a year ago even as the S&amp;P 500 is up 26.6 percent.<\/p>\n<p>For years, Kellogg\u2019s has been at war with the American Right.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2016, Kellogg\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2016\/11\/30\/dumpkelloggs-kelloggs-declares-hate-45-million-americans-blacklisting-breitbart\/\">executives announced<\/a> that they would be pulling all ads from Breitbart News, stating that its coverage and millions-strong readership&nbsp;are not \u201caligned with our values as a company.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Breitbart News, in response, launched a nationwide #DumpKelloggs petition and urged readers to boycott Kellogg\u2019s products. Within two days, the #DumpKelloggs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2016\/12\/02\/dumpkelloggs-petition-generates-250000-signatures-in-two-days\/\">petition garnered<\/a> a quarter of a million signatures from Americans vowing not to buy Kellogg\u2019s products.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_19073082\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Image-from-iOS-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-19073082\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Image-from-iOS-3.jpg\" alt=\"BNN\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1941\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Breitbart News Network<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_19072610\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/bb-dumpkelloggs-takeover_24185.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-19072610\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/bb-dumpkelloggs-takeover_24185.jpeg\" alt=\"BNN\" width=\"806\" height=\"425\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Breitbart News Network<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>For months following the boycott, Kellogg\u2019s executives <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2017\/02\/09\/kelloggs-ceo-massive-layoffs-time-massive-boycott-coincidence\/\">continuously announced<\/a> layoffs of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2017\/06\/12\/reports-kellogg-cutting-far-jobs-originally-claimed\/\">thousands<\/a> of American working and middle class employees at their plants in New York, Minnesota, Florida, Missouri, Texas, North Carolina, Ohio, and Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, Kellogg\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2017\/02\/09\/kelloggs-shutter-39-distribution-centers-layoffs-loom\/\">shuttered 39<\/a> of its distribution centers across the U.S. in February 2017.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is an outrage for Kellogg\u2019s \u2013 an iconic American company \u2013 to turn its back on working families,\u201d Jim Hoffa, president of the&nbsp;International Brotherhood of Teamsters, said in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2017\/02\/11\/teamsters-president-hoffa-kelloggs-turned-back-working-families\/\">a statement<\/a> at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Americans who worked for Kellogg\u2019s as sub-contractors <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2017\/07\/07\/kellogg-hit-lawsuit-loss-11000-supply-chain-jobs\/\">filed a class action<\/a> lawsuit against the company in July 2017 for&nbsp;breach of contract, wrongful termination of contracts, and lack of fair dealing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I found out [I was losing my job] I was quite devastated because I am now turning 60 years old, so my retirement is gone,\u201d one of the sub-contractors said at the time. \u201cI\u2019m not crazy about Kellogg\u2019s anymore. Corporate greed won out over people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kellogg\u2019s, effectively controlled by the left-wing&nbsp;W.K.
