The claim stems from a website that contains \u201chumor, parody, and satire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/amy.weaver.370515\/posts\/10227142688053765\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook post<\/a> reads, \u201cNow Fauci wants 4 shots a year \u2013 4 times the cash in their pockets,\u201d presumably referring to COVID-19 vaccines. Fauci, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.niaid.nih.gov\/about\/director\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">director<\/a> of the NIAID and the chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden, has been a <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2020\/06\/29\/fact-check-always-risk-anthony-fauci-quote-wuhan-lab-funding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">popular<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2020\/05\/28\/fact-check-anthony-fauci-all-americans-should-microchipped\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">target<\/a> for <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2020\/05\/14\/fact-check-anthony-fauci-microsoft-board-directors-bill-gates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dubious online claims<\/a> during the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Check Your Fact reviewed Fauci\u2019s public statements, available on the NIAID website, and found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.niaid.nih.gov\/news-events\/director-in-the-news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">no instances<\/a> of Fauci advocating for four COVID-19 vaccine shots per year. He also has not proposed such a practice in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.niaid.nih.gov\/director\/publications\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">his recent publications and articles<\/a>. Fauci encouraged people to get a booster shot in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=d8czzaH-b4w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">several<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2021\/12\/06\/1061727077\/fauci-urges-people-to-get-covid-vaccines-and-boosters-to-curtail-variants?utm_source=dlvr.it&amp;utm_medium=twitter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">media<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/video.foxbusiness.com\/v\/6285059956001#sp=show-clips\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">appearances<\/a> in early December.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/healthcare-pharmaceuticals\/fauci-says-vast-majority-vaccinated-americans-should-get-covid-19-booster-2021-11-23\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Reuters<\/a> reported Nov. 23 that Fauci told the outlet that \u201cright now, officially, fully vaccinated equals two shots of the mRNA and one shot of the J&amp;J, but without a doubt that could change\u201d and that what is considered \u201cfully vaccinated\u201d is \u201con the table for discussion\u201d to potentially include a booster dose in the future. When asked by a reporter at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=NCXhv47vD3k\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">White House press briefing<\/a> on Nov. 22 about whether Americans will \u201cbe looking out at a fourth shot or shots every six months or every year,\u201d Fauci said, \u201cThe honest answer is that we do not know at this point but we are collecting data that hopefully will inform us about that,\u201d according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/press-briefings\/2021\/11\/22\/press-briefing-by-white-house-covid-19-response-team-and-public-health-officials-69\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">White House transcript<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The NIAID confirmed to Check Your Fact in an email that the claim about Fauci recommending four COVID-19 vaccine shots a year is false. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/08\/23\/fact-check-joe-biden-disparaging-remark-americans-afghanistan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Joe Biden Make This Disparaging Remark Disregarding Americans In Afghanistan?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/fully-vaccinated.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">currently states<\/a> on its website that people are generally considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, or two weeks after their single dose of Johnson &amp; Johnson\u2019s vaccine. Individuals ages 18 and older are eligible for a booster shot six months after they complete their two-dose series of Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna, or two months after they received the single-dose vaccine of Johnson &amp; Johnson, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/booster-shot.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CDC website<\/a>. 16- and 17-year-olds who received Pfizer-BioNTech\u2019s vaccine as their primary vaccination series at least six months ago are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/booster-shot.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">also eligible<\/a> for a booster.<\/p>\n<p>The inaccurate claim appears to have stemmed from an <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20211127132426\/http:\/\/realrawnews.com\/2021\/11\/fauci-wants-americans-to-get-4-shots-per-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">article<\/a> published by Real Raw News in late November titled \u201cFauci Wants Americans to Get 4 Shots Per Year.\u201d In the article, it baselessly alleges the omicron variant of the coronavirus, also known as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/variants\/omicron-variant.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">B.1.1.529<\/a>, is fabricated. Real Raw News includes a <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20211206175442\/https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">disclaimer<\/a> on its website that states it contains \u201chumor, parody, and satire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite the Disclaimer on Real Raw News\u2019 website, some social media users appear to have shared the claim from the article as if it was true. Check Your Fact has previously debunked inaccurate rumors that stemmed from Real Raw News articles, including that former New York Gov.
