Clem (@USBPChiefYUM) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/USBPChiefYUM\/status\/1468587889697034248?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 8, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Nicholls warned that the surge of migrants \u201cwill continue to strain the ability of medical staff and local hospital resources to provide essential and necessary medical care\u201d amid the pandemic. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/06\/anthony-fauci-omicron-covid-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Fauci Blows Off Open Borders, Says America Can\u2019t Stop COVID Anyway)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In declaring a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/13\/exclusive-video-border-crisis-migrant-routes-the-gap-yuma-arizona-texas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">local emergency<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/26\/migrants-border-crisis-yuma-arizona\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">city<\/a> is now eligible for state and federal funding to \u201cmitigate the crisis,\u201d according to the press release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe change in the movement of migrants greatly impacts the Yuma community,\u201d Nicholls said, noting federal resources are needed to handle the crisis. Nicholls also noted the surge of migrants hurts the community\u2019s agriculture industry because migrants passing through on foot encroach \u201con active production fields\u201d resulting in \u201cfood safety concerns and the destruction of crops,\u201d which threatens the \u201cnation\u2019s food security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Republican Arizona Gov.
