(Photo by Chip Somodevilla\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h5>OAN Newsroom<br \/>UPDATED 7:04 PM PT \u2013 Thursday, December 9, 2021<\/h5>\n<p>Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the U.S. would enforce more sanctions on Iran if needed in order to avoid a potential nuclear crisis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven the ongoing advances in Iran\u2019s nuclear program, the president has asked his team to prepare in the event the diplomacy fails,\u201d said Psaki.<\/p>\n<p>Psaki made the announcement on Thursday, adding the only way the U.S. would end sanctions is if they come to a new agreement on a nuclear deal.
