She cares about the criminals,\u201d former Democratic New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind told Fox News, adding that \u201cit\u2019s time to defund AOC.\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>New York City Mayor-elect Eric Adams, a Democrat, slammed the party for ignoring the increase in violence, arguing that \u201cyou\u2019re seeing a Democratic Party, basically they\u2019ve thrown up their hands. We\u2019re continuing to see the same problems in our inner cities.\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u201cI\u2019d like to ask [Philadelphia District Attorney Larry] Krasner: How many more Black and brown people, and others, would have to be gunned down in our streets daily to meet your definition of a \u2018crisis\u2019?\u201d former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter wrote in response to comments by Krasner dismissing Philadelphia\u2019s record homicide rate.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Several Democrats have turned on members of their own party for dismissing rising crime and violence, criticizing their rhetoric and policy positions.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2021\/dec\/3\/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-rebuked-doubting-smash-an\/\"><u>dismissed<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;concerns over \u201csmash-and-grab\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/03\/authorities-14-arrests-smash-and-grab-robberies-los-angeles-san-francisco\/\"><u>robberies<\/u><\/a>, claiming that the trend was largely fictional as \u201ca lot of these allegations of organized retail theft are not actually panning out,\u201d in an interview with The Washington Times.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe it\u2019s a Walgreens in California that cited it, but the data didn\u2019t back it up,\u201d Ocasio-Cortez said.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner, a Democrat, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/news\/larry-krasner-homicide-rate-violent-crime-gun-20211206.html\"><u>brushed off<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;record homicide rates in a press conference Monday, assuring tourists and residents that they should feel safe in the city.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t have a crisis of lawlessness, we don\u2019t have a crisis of crime, we don\u2019t have a crisis of violence,\u201d Krasner said.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Nutter, former Democratic mayor of Philadelphia, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/08\/michael-nutter-philadelphia-record-homicides-larry-krasner\/\"><u>slammed<\/u><\/a> Krasner for his comments in a Dec. 8 op-ed for The Philadelphia Inquirer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d like to ask Krasner: How many more Black and brown people, and others, would have to be gunned down in our streets daily to meet your definition of a \u2018crisis\u2019?\u2019\u201d Nutter wrote. \u201cHow many more children and teens have to die in record numbers to capture your attention, and be considered a \u2018crisis\u2019?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7333593\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"38\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7333593\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter presents the award for Female Paralympic Athlete of the Year presented by DICK\u2019S Sporting Goods during the Team USA awards presented by Dow, best of the year on December 10, 2015 at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She cares about the criminals,\u201d Hikind <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/06\/democrat-dov-hikind-ocasio-cortez-danger-smash-grab-robberies-crime-surge-cities\/\"><u>told<\/u><\/a> Fox News. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/19\/police-baltimore-maryland-pennsylvania-crime-spree\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Authorities Find Former And Current Police Officers Wanted For Crime Spree Dead In Car With Two Children)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll she\u2019s interested is defund the police, close the prisons down, defund the prisons,\u201d he added. \u201cI think it\u2019s time to defund AOC. She\u2019s a danger. I really think she\u2019s a danger. These crimes that are being committed, there are real victims out there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The criticisms echo a refrain from more moderate Democrats, who have grown frustrated with their party for failing to recognize \u2014 and properly address \u2014 skyrocketing crime.<\/p>\n<p>Newly-elected New York City Mayor-elect Eric Adams, a Democrat, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/eric-adams-criticizes-dems-for-abandoning-inner-cities-havent-been-part-of-law-enforcement\"><u>lambasted<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;the party for ignoring the increase in violence in the lead-up to his election win.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re seeing a Democratic Party, basically they\u2019ve thrown up their hands,\u201d Adams said. \u201cWe\u2019re continuing to see the same problems in our inner cities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adams also <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/11\/11\/eric-adams-vows-return-of-nypd-gun-unit-after-blm-threat\/\"><u>rebuffed<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;calls from Black Lives Matter activists to disband a plainclothes division of the New York Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is going to be a city where we are going to be safe. It\u2019s criminal,\u201d California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2021\/dec\/1\/americas-smash-and-grab-crime-wave-baffles-congres\/\"><u>told<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;The Washington Times in reference to California laws. \u201cI think people are well aware of it and the legislature is well aware of it. And I would think that there may be some toughening of law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Maryland Democratic Sen.
